Lunch time dining, excellent service, quaint menu with unexpected excellent surprises. Best chips so far in Hobart! Street view leaves you wondering, internally bazinga! Will be coming back!

It’s like walking into a cosy tavern in Harry Potter or LOTR. In winter, the fire’s on, there’s mulled cider, and when we went, a live fiddle band. Staff are great, food is exceptional. This feels like the best spot in Hobart during winter

What a local, comfortable and warm pub! It opens almost the whole year. The music is not noisy, the staffs are friendly, and the atmosphere is suitable for talking with friends or family. The decorations on the wall is special and characteristic, and they made fire, we were just like setting in a fancy bar on a trip.

Definitely a good option for fairly standard pub fare in Hobart. Good location and decent interior, rear beer garden area was nice too. Had the calamari and a parma, both were on par but not exceptional.

Ate here recently with friends, made a last minute booking and then arrived early and the staff were super accommodating and were able to seat us early. Awesome food options for multiple dietary requirements and at a good price. Special mention goes to our super star waitress Claire, she was an absolute delight and is an asset to the team!

Went for a pint at the pub. Lovely Irish pub. They had live music while I was there. The decor and ambience is nice and warm and makes you want to stick around for more than just one pint.

Ordered 2 chicken parmigianas which comes with chips and we added a side salad. Really nice crunch and melted top. The chips were excellently salted and coated with a nice crisp. The salad balanced the fried elements of the meal (good addition of radiochi) Great portion sizes.Warm interior with a wood burning fire. The layout of the pub is a bit confusing so wasn't sure how to go about getting a seat / placing a order. Very busy on a Wednesday evening with their pub quiz, we didn't book a table but very luckily found a free table for two. Would suggest making a reservation, there was many reserved tables when we got there at about 8pm for dinner.They serve full pints!!!

The New Sydney is honestly the best bar in Hobart. The food and drink are amazing and the staff are so friendly. It's also probably the most authentic Irish bar I've seen abroad, couldn't recommend more!

Look, I can see it has a bunch of character and a fire place and we loved that. Drinks options were good. The food though was really not great at all. We read all the reviews and thought we were in for a good pub feed but the lamb was super over cooked and rubbery and they were super helpful and replaced my lamb with another meal. Which is great! But the Guinness pie I ordered (and my husband had) was over cooked and dry. It was a nice little pub but the food wasn’t great for the price it was. Thought it was good to leave this here for the next round of ppl to come.
