The Big Freeze Air-Conditioning

I purchased an air-conditioning unit through The Good Guys and this was their installer they use and referred me to.They came out and advised that the install would cost an extra $708 and that before the installation could be done I would need to remove 4 solar panels and that the outside unit would need to be placed at the front of the house.I contacted a solar panel company to come and quote the removal of the solar panels, they advised that they were just being lazy there was no need to remove them, and that by removing them I could run the risk of loosing the whole solar system because of the age of the panels at risk of being damaged. I called to ask if it was absolutely necessary to have them removed and he was adamant it had to be done.I cancelled the install and received a refund from The Good Guys of $1516. I sort out an independent installer who will be doing the job for $950 and will not need to remove a solar panel and who can put the outside unit behind our gate so not to be an eye sore at the front of the house.I would definitely recommend looking at getting a second opinion from an independent company before using them if you are not happy with their recommendations.

The company was sub contractor for good guys and came to install two Air conditioning system. I paid 1360 $ for two units installation and when they come to install they said it will cost another$500 extra for cables and 600mm ducting. I have to refuse and contact good guys to get my installation money back. Later I contacted a local air conditioning installation company and they charged me $1100 for two split system. Never contact or choose the company for installation through good guys.

Had a recent installation of a dishwasher.The first time they arrived the guy had not been trained in the particular dishwasher installation and so he simply pushed it in place but did not secure it (fitted Dishwasher). It was also too low but he told my wife that most people just put cutting boards or place mats on the top and it would look ok. After he left the dishwasher fell over when we opened it.We then had the owner come out to rectify the issue and after he left the dishwasher would not drain. We then spent the weekend hand washing the dishes but realised late Sunday that the water from the sink was draining out of the exit pipe/drain pipe for the dishwasher. This is because they had, unplugged the dishwasher and replugged it onto a sealed exit pipe and had left the working one open!The water went under our laminate flooring and caused a lot of damage.The owner try to discourage us from going through his insurer and offered to give us the installation fee back. He also did not want us to mention the issue to Good Guys (they subcontract to them).We are now waiting for the floor to be replaced.

Alex and Jordan were extremely prompt, professional, and easy to deal with. Completed the job for the price they quoted. Booking through the The Good Guys is tricky, and the Good Guys did not always give me the best advice. Alex actually helped me make the right choices for aircon and get it all sorted. Highly recommend.
