My grandson was very keen to learn karate and after attending an information session at our local shopping centre with the owner Calvin, he decided that he wanted to give it a go and see how he liked it.He now absolutely loves going to his classes and was so proud recently to achieve his yellow belt.Calvin is a great instructor, very knowledgeable and skilled and is able to relate well to the students and keep them focused. The additional skills of self discipline and respect the students are learning each lesson is definitely a bonus.I look forward to watching my grandson achieve more of his goals with his Karate.

My granddaughter loves her classes at Phoenix Kai Karate in Glenmore Park. As someone who practiced karate in my home country over a number of years in my youth and early twenties, I found that Calvin, the dojo’s Sensei, has exceptional patience with the younger students and his substantial knowledge of the karate style he teaches is second to none. His proficiency at imparting his skills to his classes is excellent and he gives very easy to follow instructions to the younger kids as well as the older students in his classes.On the occasions where my wife and myself take our granddaughter to classes, due to her parent’s work commitments, we have found Calvin and his students extremely welcoming and Calvin’s personable persona make training an enjoyable experience for both the students and spectators alike.If you’re looking for a dojo where you or your children would like to learn karate in a warm welcoming and fun environment, and where traits such as self discipline, respect for yourself and others are instilled, and self esteem flourishes, then joining Phoenix Kai Karate is an excellent choice.
