Jaycar Electronics Katoomba

Small with fairly limited stock, but got me out of a pickle when my laptop charger broke during a working holiday. And the guy who runs the store was really friendly and helpful, he insisted we test the replacement charger with my laptop before he'd let me buy.

Needed a phone charger as I left mine in Sydney. The guy sold me the wrong USB cable (he recommended I buy the lightspeed 3.0 which wasn't compatible) and so I had to return to the store the next day, phone still dead. He then convinced me to buy his personal USB plug (because they were out of stock in store) to match the wrong cable...all of this for $60. He assured me I could get a refund on his plug if I returned it to the store. I told him I was leaving on Sunday and would need the plug until then. It was only after my card was debited he told me that the shop was closed Sunday. The cable/plug combo still wouldn't charge my phone and by now I was almost in tears as I sensed I was being tricked. Thankfully I got a full refund on the spot. After this terrible experience, I went to BigW next door where a kind salesperson pointed me to the correct USB 2.0 cable in less than a minute.

I phoned ahead to make sure they had the adaptor I needed in stock. They said they did. I made a special trip to Katoomba to purchase this adaptor the next day. They did not have the adaptor in stock and the sales owner denied speaking to me about it the previous day. It may seem trivial but I was inconvenienced and unimpressed with the lack of service.

Katoomba's Jaycar Electronics has absolutely friendly staff and is committed to good service. Went there with a bunch of smaller and slightly bigger electrical issues over the years and always received good care. 5 Stars well deserved.

Very polite and prompt service here in Katoomba. I have needed assistance with a number of purchases and have always found the staff to be knowledgable about their stock and extremely helpful.

Returned goods as items were not suitable, asked for credit and was refused. Would never purchase any goods from this store again, as we were not asking for refunds, just a store credit. I have never had this happen in my entire life. Make sure you never need to exchange any goods at this store. Reluctant to give even 1 star rating, as not worthy.

Never believe every word he say .. he know how get you to buy and then refused to have it returned .. he a con art..You will hear from tribunal nsw

Be very careful if returning the goods, ask for refund receipt and check your bank statement. The receipt clearly states REFUND but my credit card was charged the second time instead of refunding . He didn't want to give me the refund receipt as well, saying that I don't need it
