Penneshaw Jetty

As you drive down to the jetty on the road leading into the bay it's a lovely little bay of clear water and beautiful scenery. There's a fair chance you'll see the ferry either coming or going to the mainland and whether you've just arrived or just leaving the island you'll appreciate what it is you've just witnessed or about to witness on this amazing island.Please don't let the fires of December 2019 stop you from going. There so much this Island has to offer and they need tourists more than ever. So no matter if you're a local South Aussie, from interstate or overseas please help this community recover and stay strong after the fires #bookthemout

In Europe we are used to the passengers in vehicles staying with / in the car until on board, here they have to board and disembark separately. Leads to a bit of chaos as people get back in their cars on the jetty. But apart from that it was all fine and as efficient as you would want.

The ferry can carry up to 50 cars, but there are only 6 parking spaces to pick up passengers. Unloading is bedlam!

Beautiful! Gorgeous beach, jetty for fishing, and there's a walk through penguin habitat nearby.

Great place to go fishing for squid or whiting when in season. You might see a dolphin or seal as well.

Great customer service. Easy and quick.

Not many visitors on the day we transitted through but the coffee was good, the prepacked sandwiches were fresh, and the facilities were clean.

Very nice place plenty to see and plenty of places to eat. And very friendly people
