Historically interesting, limited camping spots on level ground, the hut itself is small and inhabited by ants so not ideal for sleeping

Major Clews Hut trail
A neat wee historic site with well maintained tracks in. A few ruts mean it needs to be a confident driver if in a 2WD. Could be more interesting to get to in the wet without 4WD. The river routes can be bypassed for vehicles with low ground clearance.
