Australia Post - Thornbury LPO

THIS IS THE WORST POST OFFICE. Staff are RUDE, don't appear to know how to communicate or do their jobs properly. Unable to read a 'printed' postage label on a parcel to see where to send. More concerned with what I'm sending and why it's being sent rather than actually completing the transaction. Don't bother, head down the road to Northcote Plaza.

Customer service was awful. I was the only person in the shop at the time waiting to collect a parcel. The lady behind the desk failed to acknowledge me for about 30 seconds, when finally I heard a rather grumpy “yep” come out of her mouth, as though to give me permission to approach the counter.She made no eye contact what so ever while I showed her my i.d. and parcel collection card. I hope Australia Post does something to rectify this person’s poor behaviour and communication skills. Perhaps a customer service training course is at hand. Terrible manners. One star!

Countering all the grim reviews here by saying I found the service more than adequate and super speedy. Cheers!

The staff are usually surly and sometimes unhelpful to the point of incompetence.I enquired regarding a temporary mail redirection and the staff member (older woman) told me to contact Australia Post directly.As it turns out the help line which I was told to contact was closed for all non-emergency inquiries (due to the pandemic) and the website which I was then redirected to told me to go via a Post-Office (clearly not this post-office).If you need any advice or assistance beyond picking up or sending mail I suggest going elsewhere.

Honestly would give it a lower star rating if I could. The staff there are constantly grumpy and frustrated at you for no reason. Haven’t met a more sour group of people before. If you hate your job so much, quit! I think one staff member there is nice - the younger one with dark hair. The rest , I honestly have no words. Such a shame all our deliveries get sent there, would rather go literally anywhere else.

I had no problems collecting my package. Service was fast, polite and efficient.

Consistently poor service, grumpy and unhelpful - always takes forever to find your parcel, no organisation whatsoever. Last time I was there, I was told to come back to get my parcel because they couldn't find it, even though I eventually found it on the floor out the front of the counter. Parcels come in every day - get a system that works, so you're not spending 10 mins trying to find each parcel.

Considering the current health climate, I think there should be better infection control education provided to the staff at this Post Office.I went to collect a parcel, saw the woman behind the counter with gloves receive cash from one client, pass money back, and do the same for another client, with no pause for hand hygiene in between. I then had to pick up my parcel, which I promptly sprayed with Glen 20.The women behind the counter will wear gloves, which may protect themselves, but they fail to use hand sanitiser in between customers. As many older, vulnerable people go to the post office to manage bills and transactions and pay in cash, I feel that the post office employees should take better responsibility in caring for the community and implement hand hygiene between customers.Take responsibility for caring for our community!

Younger of the two women, assuming the daughter horribly rude. Raising her voice at me barking for my address when the older lady can't locate my package.Honestly shocking to be spoken to in that tone when all I was doing is standing there patiently waiting for a woman to locate a package.

Poor customer service, I’ve read a lot of the reviews on here and they describe my experiences with this post office. My parter also had her parcel given to the wrong person, he was able to collect the parcel without identification...??? No explanation or apology was given, they just don’t care.
