Absolutely atrocious. Would not recommend to anyone.Cancelled the night before he was due to start our sanding job by text message.Booked Ian with over 5 weeks notice. Had our entire house emptied, accomodation paid for us and our pets booked into boarding so he could come and finish our floors over 5 days to get our house ready for our first child (due in 3 weeks).Yet to receive a call, explanation or even a referral to someone else despite requests.While frantically calling to find a replacement, other operators guessed who had cancelled before I'd even mentioned his name.Giving one star as a review seems generous and unfortunate that this is the lowest option,Avoid.

I hired Ian Mc Rae floors to stain and polish and fix my timber floors.He and his sons did the job in between the times that we agreed on.I must say he matched the stain perfectly to what we wanted and to be honest he filled the holes and replaced a piece timber which looks good. The floors look great in most areas of the house BUT,,there is some areas that are not so good.I know accidents can happen to which my inside door got broken from his machine sander.He said he ''would replace the door but he also wanted 98% of the money which I disagreed to. I wanted to pay half and the other half I would pay once the door was on which I believe is fair. I had fallen to pressure and paid 98% of the money with still having a broken door.A new door finally got put on a month later to much of my unanswered calls and txts to him. The door looks good but doesn't lock properly.Would I recommend Ian MC Rae Floors to anybody?? NO WAY."

Great quality work! On time and did not muck around.Highly recommended.

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS - KEEP CLEAR! This business took our cash and gave no receipt. The quality of workmanship is very poor, the damage they caused to other parts of our house was severe and it turns out they had no insurance and our insurance would not cover the repair costs. I lost $2,700 to this business plus had to pay out another $1,400 for repairs they caused to our property.

We couldn't be happier with how our floors look. Ian McRae Flooring have done a fantastic job restoring our 100yo floorboards. There communication was 1st rate, right from our initial enquiry all the way to completion. I would definetely recommend them.

Unable to follow the manufacturers instructions using about 1/20 of the required floor adhesive. Included defective boards and left out long straight lengths. In a mad rush to finish the job in less than a day, hence the lack of thought to finish at doorways etc.
