Great coffee! Good customer service. Cute interior design. Menu looks amazing- something for everyone. Food was really good!! And came out quick despite being busy. Would recommend!

The cafe is super friendly, with a nice open area. The pancakes are incredibly amazing, very soft and with a lot crispy elements that make it super delicious. The salmon croquete is super well made, soft inside, crispy outside, but not much salmon inside. A little bit of improvement on that dish would be amazing.

How good is a place that offers gnocchi as a breakfast dish? Very, VERY good is the answer!!! Local Folk make it really hard to choose what to order because it’s all great food. A Kensington institution that you simply MUST experience and of Melbourne’s finest cafes, with a super chill but professional vibe. We love it here!!!

I have passed this busy hub so many times and glad I stopped for coffee today.It arrived looking insipid, I was worried, tool a sip and my worries vanished! It was a rich, creamy coffee, I didn't even have to add the side of milk.Food looked interesting, must check it out in the near future.

My partner had gotten top notch coffee from local folk in the past and rated it.So we decided to go in for brunch. Partner had a latte and I had a matcha latte both were milky and very weak -no flavour, just tasted like milk.For food we had gnocchi mushroom and local folk breakky with added hashbrowns. Both dishes had mushrooms that smelt and tasted like fish and gave us both a sore stomach. Partner’s avo was hard and not even ripe.Service was standard. Sweets and pastry window looked stale and unpleasant and messy.Will not recommend this place for future customers, not sure why theres such a high rating.

Really tasty food, good quantity and the price is really fair for what you get. A lot of cafes are getting really expensive (which is understandable considering the current inflation) so I really appreciate local folk for still being accessible to the average person. Seating is well spaced out and doesn't seat people elbow to elbow, the music isn't too loud. It's just a really warm and comforting atmosphere. The staff are all friendly, and the coffee is my favourite in the Kensington/Flemington area.

Like this place, handy and coffee is good. Been there a few times and enjoyed ourselves, mostly it has been value for money. However, last time service was lacking a little and TBH the beef brisket toasted sandwich was almost flavourless and definitely under seasoned. Hopefully next time will be better.
