Pie Lab

Walked past twice before deciding to give Pie Lab a go…a few bakeries in town so it was tough to decide. So glad we did!! Delicious! Biggest pie we have ever had and full as, with great amount of meat (for the meat lovers). Bought our #bakerydog a sausage roll, because she’s a connoisseur, and she gave it 4paws.

2 visits and still no pie tasting, so can't comment on the taste. Potato pies look very inviting, super tall. However, on our first visit, staff were standing around chatting with no masks on to a friend and also a delivery driver. This went on for quite some time and, as they could see we were waiting and did not even acknowledge, we decided we didn't want a pie that badly.A couple of days later, we arrived at 1:29pm, to be told by a lady who was sweeping, again maskless, no pies, sausage roll and pastie only. This was in a very rude tone of voice. For a pie shop to have not a single pie left at that time of day is pretty poor form, and the appalling way we were spoken to is enough to ensure we will never know what their pies taste like.

Brought the family here at about 1.30pm on a Saturday. There weren’t lots of pies left, so we went with the last plain one, last beef stroganoff one, and the last beef and cheese. They were awesome - big, full, heavy pies with a beautifully cooked steak filling. Nothing like a store bought mince pie! Will definitely come back…

Fantastic pies at really good prices. Superb fillings. Amazing! Would love to come back again.

Nice pies, but be careful when taking your first bite as my partners pie was boiling hot and severely burnt his hand!

I travel around a lot and I go to a lot of pie shops I’ve come across this one in Nelsons Bay the pie lab I was told about it so I went in and bought a couple of pies . wow they’re full of meat tasty and quite large and great value for money. if you’re travelling and you’re in Nelsons Bay Or want to go for a long drive come to Nelsons Bay go to the pie lab and grab yourself a pie. you will be pleased and it is well worth the drive. well going back for another pie now they were beautiful from MWH. if you’re looking for the pie lab it is diagonally across the road from Woolworths at Nelsons Bay I took a photo to show you where it is from MWH

Fantastic pies.I had heard about this new pie shop in Nelson Bay for a while now and I decided to go give them a try.Everywhere we travel I'm sure you hear or see signs all around Australia about the best pies are made here, only to be disappointed.Well, the Pie Lab do make fantastic pies. The meat is thick, chunky but tender with plenty of flavours. I had pepper and a chilli pie that was bursting with flavour, you could actually taste the chilli something most shops tend to go light on. The size of the pie is massive and the pastry is cooked great.The staff a friendly and welcoming, there are a few tables out the front to sit down and eat your pie or walk down to the Marina and enjoy it there.I would definitely recommend this as the pie shop to go to in Port Stephens.
