Gwydir Thermal Pools Motel & Caravanpark

This is a great Caravan park - thermal pools are awesome so clean not crowded really relaxing.The whole park was clean, had lots of amenities, showers and toilets were clean - even had a wash bay to wash your vehicle.I felt the drive through spaces were a bit narrow for our RV (we have pop out and awning) but I think they probably just put us in the wrong site, there were shorter/wider ones.

Fabulous place to relax, the Thermal pools are amazing and you feel very relaxed. Has a great Cafe with lovely food, can accommodate caravans, campers and also they have cabins and motel rooms.

Public amenities very appalling.. A code to access facilities, could help keep non paying visitors from sneaking in toilets, kitchen and pools . Hot pools are not clean. I suggest a shallow tub at the entrance where everybody must walk through (and wash their feet at least) to get to the pools. There is sand and dirt on the bottom of the pools. No comment on one of the lady at the reception who is not welcoming at all. And last but not least... LOCK all your belongings as there is no security nor gates to keep you safe. Use common sense.

We stopped there for 3 days on a ensuite site, great park and thermal pools. The ensuites could do with a upgrade or at the least some general maintenance. The ladies at the reception were fantastic, but when I went to book for a additional day the receptionist I spoke to seemed to have a bit of attitude and think she could talk down to people, bar that one person our stay was fantastic and still highly recommend Gwydir thermal pools caravan park. (Maybe she had a bad day)

This place could be absolutely amazing…. The amenities are so run down and old. They need a complete over haul. Hot water takes 2-3 minutes to come through… not sure how that makes for water saving. No hot water at all to the hand basin in the ladies. Having said that, Our site was good and the park was quiet and relaxing. Thermal pools look great, unfortunately they have to be chlorinated so I’m not sure how they are so great for you. If this is the best park in Moree I would hate to see the others…..

Checking in was fast with 3 staff members working but as I left to return to our car, there was a long queue of caravans waiting to check in.We were unimpressed with the lack of rubbish bins. There were only two over a large space - we used to empty our rubbish into the rubbish skip bin that was located at the front entrance.I think we must have been lucky as our caravan site was good. Because of larger trees, we were given 2 sites - you couldn't put 2 vans on the site because of the trees.We preferred to go to the hot pools after 7 or 8 pm as they were much quieter, with probably at least 3/4 less people using the pools at that time.Amenities were clean, although need some refurbishing in the older toilet block. There was rubbish being left in there by people who probably couldn't find any rubbish bins.

Truthfully this place could be an amazing place if only they put some effort into it.Firstly - the cabin we stayed in was dirty, floors were sticky and gritty, walls and windows dirty and the bathroom really didn't appear cleaned.We had to make our own beds with linen that was stained... and there wasn't even so much as a small milk, tea or coffee to be seen.... you can buy that from their kiosk if you dare.The pools are really the only saving grace of this place.... although having said that... I doubt adding chlorine to the 'artisan water' keeps the 'health benefits' of the water.Our cabin was right next to a dumpster that had a foul smell wafting through our windows.... and to top it all off... anyone we saw that worked here, were unfriendly, unsmiling and definitely uninterested.It really could be such a great place with just a little love.

We had a great stay here with our kids. We camper and found that the park had everything we needed. Toilet and shower blocks were okay, powered campsites were very reasonable priced, the hot springs were fantastic. The staff was friendly. We recommend buying the book Australia's Great Thermal Way" while you're there. They sell it at reception."

Thermal pools are great, but overall it's just big and busy and basic and there is a lot more they could do to make it an inviting place.The food & service at the kiosk/cafe were good, but not designed for inviting places to sit. The park owners should modernise & flip the cafe to it opens onto inviting seating area and the pool promenade via see-through pool fence. Then it will have a modern inviting area for people to congregate, eat, buy, swim.

A great place to relax for a day or two and soak in the numerous artesian pools - with temperatures as high as 39 degrees - chose your preferred level of heat. The Cafe has delicious food - we had roast lamb, vegetables and gravy. There are motel rooms, cabins and powered van sites. Lots of people around as this place is popular. Pick your soaking time - up till 10 pm!
