John Gorilla is our go-to cafe. The team is friendly, the food is delicious, and their menu offers a selection that sets them apart from other cafes. The barista consistently crafts our coffees with care. One of our favorite things about John Gorilla is sitting at the main big table, where they always make a lovely effort to have a special display with fresh flowers. The cafe has a cute and inviting ambiance, making it a joy to spend time there. It's true that the seating can be a bit cramped in the second room, but it has its own charm. They provide free pads and tampons in the toilets, showing their thoughtfulness for their customers' needs. If you're looking for a neighbourhood cafe experience, John Gorilla is the place to go.

Cute little cafe with awesome vibes and a delicious and broad menu. Great to see vegan options, and good quality coffee (and plant milk ‹3 ) genuine customer service and care. Definitely recommend, and will return soon! (potato rösti pictured)

Fantastic place, interesting menu, everything was delicious, especially the BLT! Pleasant atmosphere and most importantly the coffee is top notch.

The WORST, most awkward, cramped seating and when asked if we could sit at a table for 4, we were refused, so all the tables for 2 are squashed up sitting on top of each other, shoving our butts in their faces trying to squeeze in.Asked for a large coffee... we only have one size for have here"....then the table next to us gets 2 mugs (assuming chai??) while we have take away cups (not very eco friendly). AND $5.60 for a small coffee...WOW. Staff friendly enough. Won't be back though."

A little gem tucked away in Brunswick West! As a local of the Northern suburbs, John Gorilla is my favourite cafe. It has super cute and kitschy decor, with frequent cafe dogs to pat. The outdoor area is nice for summer days. The coffee is always of exceptional quality, the food is incredible and the staff are friendly. The only thing is that the prices are a little more higher than average, but it's worth it.

Asked if they have plain french toast as well as the 'fancy' version on the menu.Told 'no' (the wrong answer if you want to make a sale) despite there being a children's version available.Coffee average.

Delicious breakfast (served all day). Cubano sandwich was next level. Friendly and helpful staff. Great coffee too!

Lovely friendly staff, though they seemed a little overwhelmed during breakfast. We ordered avocado piquello (Basically a standard avo toast), and the chicken burger. Both were good. But I kinda expected a little more for the price. The coffee was also nice.

Just stopped in at John Gorilla for breakfast. Best chilli scramble of my life! The coffee was delicious, I had a batch brew and it was great.My favourite thing about this cafe is the staff. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, it really made me feel at home. I will be back!
