Small and stylish Mexican restaurant with amazingly good food. Most of the menu either is or can be made gluten free. The elotes were chargrilled and delicious—my favourite. All of the tacos were divine but I think the pork was my favourite. Definitely worth a visit!

Most recommended in this area. Loved the food. Food was delightful. But, do check sauce date of expire. Tried 2 of them and both were expired 2021/2022. Though staff replaced it, should have checked it before.

Tasty food. Good service. Great cocktails. We wanted something light and quick after a long drive and this place was perfect. Cocktails were a bonus. The Margherita and Mojito r very good.We had the soft tacos, corn chips and guacamole and it was pretty authentic based on what we had when in Mexico but with some local produce thrown in for the twist.Definitely recommend.

Mexican Republic - A restaurant that is tucked away from the bustling main streets. Absolutely loved the covered, yet see through, outdoor seating which overlooks the picturesque Lorne landscape. However, things didn’t go well for me. My friend and I stopped for dinner after a very long day. I drove almost 400km and was having severe headache. I am writing this review in the comfort of my bed so it won’t sound biased in any way.1. We placed the order through the app and paid. Waited 43 mins, and had to ask for the food. And it took them another 3-4 mins to deliver the food to the table. How do I remember accurately even after a day? Well, like I said, I was so frustrated and wanted to pick on something and it made me check the time every now and then. Remember, we had another 1 hour 57 mins driver to reach home and we lost almost 1.5 hours in this restaurant.2. Service was good. They check on you in between.3. I find it a bit pricey.4. The toilet sticks big time!!! To make it worse we sat next to the toilet door (the door that opens to the back hallway/alleyway and next to it is the toilet. I had to literally cover my nose, it smelled like some sort of wet dog in there! I noticed a air freshener the second time I went in, i wish I saw it on the first place so I could have sprayed it. Anyway, not my job!!I would have happily given 5 star but yea, experience is everything for me. Especially when I pay more than GnG for a Burrito or Quesadilla.Taste? It was delicious. The Burrito is a must try.

We ordered by the QR code and paid - but it sent me an SMS that the restaurant did not confirm they received it. Flagging the waitress - she copied down my order on a notepad - My wife mentioned corn chips but changed her mind, told her to never mind - but the waitress ignored her, also ignored our calls to her as she was going back inside. She ended up placing a handful of plain corn chips in a small dish on the table.We finished our meal, we got up to leave - and to our suprise they called to us saying we handn't paid for the chips - and wanted to charge us $10 FOR THE PLAIN CHIPS. The tacos and burritos were already overpriced, then a 10% surcharge AND then more transaction fees we had to pay and now they're demanding $10 for a handful of plain chips?! Pure greed! I pointed out the ludicrous price but was dismissed by the waitress - who continued to hold the eftpos machine out in front of me. Left feeling manipulated and ripped off, really soured the whole experience, though the food wasn't fantastic, either. Will never return, would recommend others avoid it too. El Santo in Geelong is an order of magnitude better in all categories of price, service and food.

Super friendly staff were great with my 3 year old son. There is a thoughtful kids menu here that was a real winner with the youngster !! We sampled every taco on the menu here on Taco Tuesday (3 for $15) and everything was rich in flavour diverse and tasty. Great selection of Mexican beers and sodas. Next time I'm going to try the sangria!!

Kids and I were very excited to eat here, kids beef taco vegetarian burrito and chicken burrito. Very very disappointed , took kids taco back to say it was cold and sloppy and taco appears stale,, was told it's the meat and juice that broke taco. Kitchen staff couldn't look at me, I wasn't rude, there were customers so I went inside and was polite, Only redeeming feature was price until I realised they've overcharged me, another disappointing meal in Lorne,Check out the pit stop. They're awesome

Waited 1 hour for 3 average $22 chicken burritos with no chicken in it. Go elsewhere.But, if you like quinoa and beans in your bland burrito this is the place for you!

Best decision we made while we were away traveling up and down the great ocean road.Haven't had a good burrito in ages, so I'm glad Mexican republic didn't let us down.The corn was also so good. Gonna get two of these next time. Want to also try more of their menu.Staff were also lovely. Will be back for sure.

The staff were friendly and nice and the atmosphere was good, tucked away from the beach. Got the charred corn which was average in flavour compared to other places in past for $9 each. The vegan burrito was enjoyed by my other half. The chicken one though was quite dry and lacked flavour. It needed extra sauce and fresher poultry. Overall it was okay but not a highlight sadly.
