Tickled Pink - Thornbury
Coffee was great, very subtle and not too overpowering. Food was not too pricey but lacking the “wow factor”. Service was good but not the best. Atmosphere was very inviting with its rose pink coloured walls and wall frames.

Once again forgot to pre order the breakfast board which was disappointing but the smashed avocado dish was available today so went for that. Yummy though unfortunately one of the pieces of toast was quite burnt. We were in a group of 12 so it was convenient that we could order and pay individually at the counterOriginal reviewWe popped into Tickled Pink impromptu on Anzac Day and I was super keen to try the breakfast board for two that I had seen on Instagram but was advised it had to be ordered the day before which is frankly a little strange given it is only compromised of existing menu items and no special ingredients need to be procured but anywho I then attempted to order the smashed avocado and was told they had run out of avocado (how does a cafe run out of avocado!)My third attempt was the heirloom tomato dish but alas as that had whipped avocado on it I would have to compromise on that dish also (at this point I’m wondering why does someone not pop down to IGA and buy some avo particularly as they are lumping me with a public holiday surcharge and half the menu isn’t available) but I ordered the berry hotcake and I was pretty happy with the taste and presentation. In terms of the chai it was quite authentic so spicier than I expected given typically most cafes serve them pretty sweet so something to be conscious of. Would definitely go back to try more of the menu (assuming it’s available!)

Cafe is beautiful with plenty of seating and local parking and staff were very friendly. We were a table of 7 and whilst the coffee was great, the food was not enjoyable at all. We ordered a range of items but all from the breakfast menu with a toast or croissant base to the meal. The bacon was cold and hard, toast had clearly been sitting out for a while and eggs (we had poached, scrambled and fried at the table) were cold. There was barely enough avocado covering the toast in 3 of the avocado smash dishes - was hard to therefore justify the price. Was an extremely disappointing experience, would not recommend.

Saturday morning g brunch. Nice street seating to take in the lovely sunny morning and watch the locals wander around the shops. The food offering I didn't find as tempting, lacking some of the more traditional fare, but the shrimp sub I ended up getting was very nice.

Nice cafe and nice coffee.Staff a bit standoffish which takes away from the overall experience hence my two stars.Melbourne is known for its relaxing atmosphere. We went there for takeaway coffee, it was a bit quiet so we made our way into the cafe to make our order. I always like to check out the cake stand for a nice treat on the weekend. As soon as the staff member realised we’re after takeaway, she very quickly ushered us out of the cafe to the door, as this is where they typically made takeaway orders. But it was done in what I found was a rushed manner and almost as though we should have known that, and the inside is purely for those who are dining in.I have nothing against their rules. But the cafe was fairly quiet on the inside. No staff was standing at the door to take takeaway coffee, so I see nothing wrong with making the order inside. Curious to see what happens say when it is cold or raining. Do they usher people out like this?!
