I took my toddler here to begin getting him used to haircuts. I’d been referred by the owner of another salon.Candy hair is a convenient location if you’re parked on the coles side of Southland. The facade is bright and colorful, you walk in and are surrounded by fun things such as model cars and airplanes for the kids to sit in while they have their haircuts.The online booking system is efficient and easy.Staff are friendly upon arrival and you rarely have to wait longer than your appointment time.We’ve used two hairdressers there, both named Gemma. The first Gemma was younger and our fave.Every time they’ve listened to what we want and done exactly that, all the whole keeping the kids entertained with iPads showing their fave shows, like bluey etc.Prices are slightly higher than elsewhere, but it’s worth it for the effortless appointment and no tantrums because the children are having fun.I’m only using this service to transition my child into being able to attend another salon closer to my home, but 100% recommend.

Engaging with the kids. Awesome haircut on difficult, thick, curly Afro hair. This is the first time ever my son has walked away happy with his haircut. Very happy.

absolutely excellent service. The hairdresser was so patient with my hysterical toddler. At no point did she get stressed or make me feel uncomfortable as my child screamed and cried. Aside from my son being beside himself, it was a positive experience due to the hairdresser.

We have been going to Candy hair for several years now, and it’s where my son had his very first haircut.Gemma is absolutely wonderful. My son feels so comfortable with her and she is super friendly and does an excellent job every time

Sonny absolutely loves coming to get his hair cut with Star. Star is always so kind and friendly with him and takes time to ask him where he would like to sit, what he would like to watch and how he would like his hair cut. Star is always very patient and happy and makes Sonny feel really special. Thank you!

Just took my son for his first haircut and loved the experience. Star was excellent, she cut my son's hair beautifully and he didn't cry once. Friendly staff, highly recommend!

Very disappointing experience with candy hair.My daughter is 4 and was very excited to come and sit in the cars and watch TV while getting her hair cut in a special kids salon but was not the experience I expected for a $40 haircut. The hairdresser herself was OK but the whole salon is very poorly managed. They seem completely overbooked and was not at all a pleasant experience.While they are VERY strict about clients arriving on time they do not give same courtesy running 15 minutes late with no apology (plus we got there the requested 5 minutes early). Car seat which the kids sit in was dirty with hair because of back to back bookings with no proper cleaning between use and hair all over floor. Lots of kids crying as to be expected at a kids salon with younger kids having first haircuts but due to the amount of clients scheduled at once this is quite overwhelming.I reached out to candy hair before writing this public review to discuss it with them via FB messenger. While it shows they recieved the message they did not respond.

My three year old loves Star! She's a really skilled stylist, and is so kind and patient too. Highly recommended.

My first time hair cutting experience was today for my 2 year old. Ashley was calm, focused and fast. Couldn’t recommend her enough! All of the girls were warm and friendly and I didn’t feel as if I was being rushed out when we were finished. Great experience and I will be back!
