The Captains Retreat at Birks Harbour is an incredible experience. Attention to detail from the decor to the supplies in the fridge is just right on every time. Relax by the Murray River in an original river boat captain's house!!

We had an amazing 3 day stay. The Boathouse Retreat is such a delightful, quiet, beautiful place to unwind & relax. There's so much to down around the Goolwa area. Wineries, Brewery's, plenty of Restaurants & Cafe's. Do yourself a favour & take a drive to Lake Breeze Winery near Langhorne Creek & sample their great wines & Food.

A beautiful quiet experience. Was amazed at the goodies you supplied to make our stay so wonderful. (Bread, orange juice, cereal, jams, all sourced local made it special.) Thank you so much. Will recommend for sure.

This is our second visit, first the Boathouse Retreat now Captain’s Retreat which was a great experience, together with friends we relaxed & chilled & enjoyed all the amazing facilities that this wonderful retreat has to offer! A beautiful setting overlooking the Murray River & if you're lucky you might get a boat trip or at the least sundowners by the water! Hosts Wendy & Phil were helpful & so knowledgeable about the entire area, so much to do and see! A wonderful experience not to be missed!

The Boathouse is truly a little piece of heaven and those who don't think the inside and outside views are stunning need to make an appointment at Specsavers ! Make a booking - you certainly won't regret it :)
