Joseph's used to be a great place to dine, WHAT HAPPENED. So disappointed with food and NO SERVICE. FRONT FOYER BILLIARD TABLE, it's more of a pub than the grand hotel We remember. Gutted.No food and beverage manager to speak to. When Sofitel managed the hotel it was first class. No pride in work ethics. So sad to see this hotel badly run. Did not any photos to post, to embarrassing to show.WILL NOT GO BACK EVEN IF IT WAS FREE.

We recently dined at Joseph’s restaurant, The 3 coarse meal was outstanding!! We tried the scotch fillet & cauliflower gnocchi then the cheese platter for desert 10/10. The service was incredible, Renee & Julie were a standout, very attentive throughout the night. Thank you

I think other reviews sum it up very well.Two stars for the service, victor was over the top and deserves recognition.Shame about the food though, just avoid it.

We dined with the degustation 5 course meal at $110 per person. The food was terrific and beautifully presented but unfortunately that was the only good thing about it. The entire service we weren’t offered a single drink. We had to ask to see a drinks menu and to order a drink we had to ask someone after they brought out the first course. And then we weren’t offered any drinks after that. Very disappointing service but I hope it was just a once off that evening as the food is great and we would hate to see the service ruin the experience for the kitchens hard work.

Stayed at the Werribee Mansion late last year for a nice getaway, opted to have dinner at Joseph’s as it was onsite and seemed nice.We opted to have the tasting menu which we thought was going to be nice due to most tasting menu’s being the best of what the chef can compile, it was actually subpar. The food looked nice but in reality it really lacked flavour or any wow factor at all, the seasoning was barely there, most the plates were small and left us hungry to the point where we got room service right after our dinner. The quality of the produce is great though and the food was cooked well but they just didn’t seem to gel as a whole, the lamb was good but still lacked flavour, the dessert was probably the best part out of the whole meal.The service was really average, we had 3 different waiters/ waitresses, 2 weren’t very good but 1 was really good. From the get go our first plate came out and my partner finished first and her plate was taken away, I finished my plate a few minutes after her and my plate was still on the table when they bought out our next plate which came under 5 minutes after I finished, i timed next 2 plates that came out as I thought that was really quick, one came out 3 minutes after we had finished and the next came out 10 minutes and it progressively got better, so within the first half an hour we had already finished over half of our plates which made it feel awfully rushed.4/10 for me.

Oh my goodness, the new menu is incredible. Food is divine, service is top notch, love, love, love.The only issue is Google Maps will take you to some random side entrance. Make sure you follow signs to the zoo and then turn left onto dirt track just before you get to the zoo carpark.

With the $100 per person price you expect everything just perfect, tasty and appealing. Not the case for the restaurant. The look is absolutely plain, no wow. I was offered a chair with the seat so old that the feeling was I am sitting on just a sharp frame. Scotch steak extra $$$ and yet medium rare was so tough like I chew some overcooked rubber $5 meat from nearest Coles cheap butcher. Waitors are nice and attentive but not trained for 5 star service. For example, the way they serve is like a cheap diner, leaving rubbish on the table, attention to customer requests. Not terribly bad, if you pay $20. But when you expect a high end, it fails short expectations. The price of wine is absolutely unaffordable. You can get away with a glass $16 or $20. If you go for a bootle then think $200 - $300. And believe me those are not high end wines. We are talking about $30 per bottle Dan Murphy Kind of wines. It is especially laughable because they have a whole winery at the backyard with amazing wines max $70. So forget about buying a bottle in the restaurant.

I took my mum for her birthday to high tea on a Sunday at a 12.30pm sitting. The staff member who greeted us upon arrival was warm and friendly. Unfortunately the remainder of the visit was disappointing. The fresh scones were tasty and champagne was nice. But the remainder of the food was lacklustre. 'Hot' pastries were lukewarm. Sandwiches were bland. The most disappointing items were the cakes. We found them to be stale and dry. It was bottomless tea however no waiters were refilling our cups. We had to flag a staff member over to get a refill. Service was poor. At $85 pp my expectation was high. Sadly will not attend again.
