If it weren’t so cold in winter I’d go swimming here. The hike back to Paluma was basically endurance-level for a good section on the creek-side.

Beautiful spot to get away from the city. Much cooler than Townsville due to the altitude. Many varied bushwalk to choose from in length and intensity, can spend a lot of time exploring them

Lovely walk to these falls. There is a rope you can use to climb across for a better view. Easy walk to get there and back, with an option to return through the township.

The drive up the mountain thankfully doesn't have speed bumps but inconsiderate drivers sometimes take wide bends and could ruin your day. But those concerns aside it's a lovely drive and gets beautiful and cool when you get about 1/3rd of the way. Windows down is necessary to enjoy the wonderful coolness and atmosphere.Once you arrive there are many different tracks to choose from but they will knock you around if you aren't very fit. But plenty of lovely scenery and nice tables and benches for a BBQ. Lovely way to spend a day.

Nice easy paced walk. Was 5klm in total. We completed it in 2 hrs with a couple of pictures.
