Spectrum Medical Imaging

Unfortunately left feeling dissatisfied today. I was 7 minutes late for my appointment with my newborn baby and got loudly told off by the receptionist when I made my apology. I had tried to call but was unable to get through as I was kept on hold until my arrival.Upon leaving, I requested to make a “patient portal” for my baby, and was told I can’t do this because the baby “needs to use her own email address”!The sonographer was lovely, respectful and thorough, but my experience at reception means I won’t be returning.

After knowing from first hand they Bulk bill staff and staff relatives. They won’t Bulk bill, even with a provider number and referral stating please Bulk bill. Money hungry at me.

Over the years I have always been impressed by the reception staff and the Radiologists to be very professional. After my recent visit. I found the service very disappointing.

Have constantly tried calling for 3 days to make an appointment and been on hold for more than 30min without anyone answering my call, each time. I went in on the 4th day to physically make an appointment, to only be given a lame excuse that Liverpool is assisting Randwick office in answering phones. Regardless I still tried to make an appointment, not for that day, but for following week and was told to sit and wait until they were ready to make me an appointment, even though i waited in line to be served! I took my referral and left. Will not waste my time with such incompetent people.

The actual medical imaging services that Spectrum offer are good but the phone booking service is horrific and completely unreliable. You could phone for days and not get through, or get cut off after being on hold for a long time, multiple times in a row. There is no other way to make an appointment, the services themselves cannot be reached. It's completed outdated and not fit for purpose. Go to a different imaging provider.

After a visit to A&E in Randwick and an X-Ray on Saturday (4/6) I was referred to Spectrum. They told me at the hospital that it would be bulk-billed and covered by my Medicare.On calling Spectrum on the Monday to book an appt they stated that it would incur a cost, I questioned this as per the Hospitals statement.They rang back a few hours later and apologised for the mistake but that it would be bulk billed and covered.On arriving at Randwick Tuesday (7/6) for my appointment (time off work and an Uber) the lady in reception after giving me the forms to fill out came over and told me that it wasn’t covered as I was referred by Hospital.Despite me checking and clarifying on the phone and the lady then admitting the person on the phone made a mistake.I found the customer service and attitudes of staff there really bad, and the lack of communication and the incorrect advice given a worry.Would of given 0 stars if an option.

No issue with the staff or the services. But there are consistently long wait times when I try to call and make an appointment. Today it took 4 calls. I was put on hold and then hung up on 3 times. I-Med at Prince of Wales is the same distance and a lot better. They answer the phone promptly and are polite and efficient.

As a health care professional , I strongly recommend Spectrum in High Street. They are professional and provide quality services. I had the opportunity to speak to Cathy the receptionist today, she is more than just a receptionist. She demonstrates professionalism and has a caring attitude. She knows my requested service can be potentially life threatening so she encouraged me to have it done ASAP. How often do you see a health service provider cares about your health more than yourself? Not often nowadays. We all become numbers nowadays. Cathy is absolutely amazing and she well represented Spectrum and the patients there are so very lucky to have someone like her. I have attended many services with great reviews but the services were terrible. I rather have quality care than a shortened waiting time. We only have one body. Nothing is more valuable than our health.

Staff on the reception desk were really helpful / friendly and I was seen pretty much straight away!! However, the radiographer was really rude. I was seen by an Irish girl with strawberry blonde / reddish hair who came across very cold & bossy with no manners. Got the impression she hates her job - my advice to her would be don't work in a CS industry if you don't like dealing with people! ✌️
