Nostalgic Queen's Theatre

The heritage listed Nostalgic Queen's Theatre is one of the few remaining intact examples of a modest purpose-built country picture theatre.Such theatres were significant social centres in small rural communities such as Wallumbilla. Theatres showed feature films, newsreels and cartoons and the halls were also used for other community events.The advent of television contributed to the demise of many of the country picture theatres in the latter part of the 20th century. It may not be a big or beautiful building but it tells part of the story of life in a country town in the 1900's.
