Dickson Park Dental Surgery - Cosmetic & Emergency Dentistry in Canberra

My partner referred me to this dental surgery, and we now go here for our bi-annual teeth cleaning. I have had great experiences each visit. Hilary is amazing - so professional. We highly recommend her services - very comprehensive & knowledgable. She knows what she is doing and explains what is happening every step of the way so you feel safe and know you are in the right hands. The reception staff are also polite & professional - really great team!

I have been going to Dickson dental park for many years now, as have my whole family including my kids, Hilary and her team have made tooth extractions, fillings and dental cleaning a breeze, and I have never found a dental practice with better customer service or pain free dental work.I recommend all my friends to go there as I can not fault them. Their friendly staff will make you feel so comfortable. I really like that they take the time to clearly explain what they can see/need to do to fix any problems.

Finally found another family dentist. Ugh, you know the feeling, your childhood family dentist retires and you're in a bit of no-mans-land dentist wise.For the last 5 years I have just been going to any dentist I could get an appointment at (close to where ever I was working at the time) . Whilst they were all fine, I felt like I was in a production line. So I put the call out on Facebook and I was recommend these guys and I haven't looked back.I have found all the dentists great (especially when I needed to get in at short notice due to a infection in my gum) and have no hesitation in recommending all of them. I have found that all work was clearly explained to me, costings have always been provided upfront and from talking to others, it's all super competitive price wise . I have never once felt I was being over-serviced to extract (pun intended) more money from a visit.Had such a positive experience, that these guys are now our family dentist to our 8 and 5 year old kids who they have been awesome with.Look, no one loves going to a dentist and most people usually don't give it much thought when it comes time to finding a new one - but if you need to find a surgery full of lovely dentists and great staff, these guys are great.

Very poor service and they deliberately extend appoints in order to extract more money. This surgery requires 3 appointments and $700 to conduct a routine tooth extraction, this should have been done in one appointment, she also tried to make me get further x-rays at another clinic because she couldn't do it which would have cost more money. I have had to have one other tooth removed which was cracked as well - this cost $200. They're deliberately slow and try to justify that with condescending explanations that don't address the real issue. Other Dickson dentists are far more efficient and able to conduct a simple in chair tooth extraction in one appointment and for lessthan half the price. Their response to my complaint included gaslightimg me for my experience and attempting to state I didn't know which tooth was hurting (I was well aware it was the upper tooth) she also attempted to explain my tooth wasn't loose (it was) the response failed completely to address the gross over charging and the fact the dentist was inefficient and extremely unsure of herself. She ducks and weaves and outright lies in her response, She literally took half an hour and cost me $200 staring at some Xrays then charged me another $300 in the afternoon when she took the tooth out. I had to explain to her multiple times that I just wanted the tooth gone and in her response she still lies and says I wanted it saved. Stay away from this surgery, they charge like wounded bulls and will cost you over double what another dentist will. I have included their response below when I contacted the Manager with my concerns.Edirt: to the owners response below: as I wont be returning to your practice I have no doubt I will go on to recieve excellent dental care from another business, at a third of the cost. I also wont be pretty much called a liar or have my complaint so thouroughly dismissed. Good work in getting your friends to leave a review 5 days ago to try and drop mine down. Dont say sorry to me either, youre not sorry and you didnt even hear my complaint out, didnt even discuss it with me. Your response had factual errors and missed the main crux of my complaint.

I'm so happy with the care Dickson Park took dealing with my son (age 5). 2 years ago he fell and knocked 2 teeth loose and at that time they squeezed me in on a Saturday morning (within 15 minutes of my call) even though I was not a patient at the surgery. The dentist reviewed the injury and advised that we needed to wait and see if the teeth would firm up again or fall out. There was quite a lot of trauma to the teeth and gums and this needed to heal a bit. The dentist went so far as to contact me on the Saturday evening after hours to check how he was feeling. We had monitoring for about 6 weeks after to make sure the damage was healing and that there was no infection.2 years after this (last week) one of the damaged teeth suddenly developed an abscess. This had been clearly communicated to me as a risk- even so long after the initial incident- so I had been periodically checking his mouth. Again the surgery squeezed me in for a review at the last minute and really allayed my concerns, prescribing antibiotics for the abscess and giving me a clear path forward that seeks to minimise intervention in a small child.I've always found the dentists and staff to be really calm and patient and they make every effort to help my children feel comfortable.I thoroughly recommend Dickson Park - and have suggested it to a number of my friends!

Amazing experience everytime and I've got difficult jaws and teeth

I have been attending this practice for many years now. My son was very young and had a traumatic experience at another dentist. A friend recommended Dr Lucille Pereira, and we have never looked back. Dr Lucille made my son feel extremely comfortable and took the time to explain everything she was going to do. She now sees my entire family and goes above and beyond what is expected of her.An orthodontist advised my first son to have four teeth removed before braces and sent the instructions to the practice. Dr Lucille rang me at home at 9pm to explain that he did not need to have teeth removed, that the advice was incorrect. She has now seen him through braces and has beautiful teeth, including the four that nearly didn’t make it! Recently, my other son had his teeth knocked out during footy and were only hanging on by his braces. Again, Dr Lucille made herself available at no notice, and over the course of a few months, has managed to save his teeth, thank God!I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a fantastic team who make going to the dentist a pleasure.

Highly recommend Dr Lucille especially for those with a fear of dentists. Incredibly gentle and wonderfully reassuring.

Edit: came back with my daughter for a small filling that had fallen out and Dr Rebecca was fantastic with her. Highly recommend for anxious children.I had a wisdom tooth removed by Dr Rebecca Carslaw and I am so impressed with the whole treatment process. She explained everything beautifully and calmly and made me feel very at ease. Extraction was quick and easy, and there was minimal pain afterwards. Dental assistants and reception staff are fantastic too. Highly recommend Dr Carslaw!

Hilary and all of the dentists and staff are wonderful and been the core reason that both of my children have no issues with going along to have their teeth checked now.They are patient, kind and, most importantly, care about everyone who comes along for a check up.My son had surgery last year and I have no doubt that the level of comfort he’s developed by attending Dickson Dental Park Surgery ensured his hospital experience was so easy for all of us! Can’t recommend them highly enough.
