This place is run by volunteers. It’s the oldest waterworks that still works. Surrounding this place is a beautiful river/picturesque surrounding. You should definitely pay it a visit and pack a picnic and spend a day there.

Attended the Goulburn Steampunk and Victoriana Fair on Sunday, it was fantastic. An excellent, picturesque venue for a festival like that and it was very well run too. Will be back next year.

Great to see beautiful old machinery restored to working order. Great information from the local guide about how the engine was brought from England and used to pump water from the river for the local towns. Museum is free but a small donation can be given and this is used to maintain the site

Great to see an important part of our history so well preserved. The guide on duty was incredibly knowledgeable and really friendly. The exhibits were fantastic and quite unique. They also still work 150 yrs after they were installed. Our family group had people from 16yrs old to 85yrs old and everyone enjoyed the experience. If you live in or around Goulburn, or you are visiting and have some spare time, go check it out.

Mark was a wonderful guide. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. He explained everything to me in detail with patience. The machines they have inside the pumphouse look incredible. It was such a pleasure to visit this place.

What a Wonderful hidden gem! All these years we hadn’t even heard of it. Well worth the visit, the guide (Stuart) was very obliging and informative, and the museum was fascinating. NO CHARGE, but we were keen to make a donation to assist with upkeep.

Visited here on an open day as part of the Canberra region heritage festival. Unfortunately the main steam driven engine developed an issue and wasn't running - however it was still very much worth the drive. The building is very grand and the setting is lovely with the river. I appreciated the history of different machinery used over the years which the volunteers have kindly detailed in the many information signs provided.Bathrooms are available and there was a cafe - not open on this visit but may be at peak times.

Open on weekends and daily during school holidays. This historic site houses a largest operating steam engined pump in Australia. No booking is required and admission is by donation. The pump will only operate on Steaming Days"The site also has a BBQ and children playing equipments and perfect place for fishing. However the site closes at 4pm sharp."

A living museum. So interesting to see it work. Great help from the volunteers explaining how it all works. Nice and warm near the boiler that makes it all happen. If you ask nicely you might get to take the stairs to see the pump from the roof gantery viewing platform.
