total jerk thinks he is superman,paid a lot of money for what I thought was a top of the line implant,turned out to be only a mini-implant with a high failure rate,implant failed within 2 years ;no partial refund offered

Despite the reviews, unfortunately I had a dissappointing experience. I had researched some dentists in the area, and decided on this one due to the wide range of private health funds accepted. I called to enquire and organise my top and bottom teeth to be cleaned, just a regular check up. I’ve had zero dental issues and clean my teeth twice a day. 2 minutes into my appointment, I was told I have the ‘dirtiest teeth he’s ever seen’. The dentist may have been having a ‘bad day’, however I was told after less than 5 minutes under the light that he had ‘run out of time’ and I would have to come back for my top teeth to be cleaned. The dentist then tried to ‘up sell’ an alternative natural treatment to treat some bogus joint condition that does not exist in mainstream literature and research.No worries. Perhaps the dentist had an urgent matter to attend to, yet also found the time in between that urgent matter and my ‘filthy’ teeth to entertain me on the efficacy of new age therapies on non-existent jaw conditions. I could come back another day, after all, I live locally. I came to reception only to find out that I would be charged for a full clean, as cleaning my teeth ‘took more time than expected’ and I would be paying a full fee on my next visit. I respectfully pushed back, and said that I would be coming back, but I would not be paying for my top teeth to be cleaned, as I had already paid for my full clean using my health fund (see details below). Before moving interstate, my family dentist was always capable of cleaning my bottom and top teeth within a 20 minute consultation. I had only been there for 5.All in all, a very disappointing experience. I suspect that this is not the first time ‘repeat appointments’ have been coerced out of patients in order to extract additional fees outside of health fund coverage (I pay for full comprehensive hospital + extras with Bupa).Update: I was told they would be back in touch to rectify the issue. No call received. I called again. They said they would be back in touch. No call received. I received another phone call two months later based on automatic call back notes (presumedly) on their system. I was asked to come back in and pay for a full fee bottom and top teeth clean. ***Facepalm***No thanks. I’ve since been back to my family dentist interstate. Don’t waste your time (or money) here.

My family and I have seen Richard for many years. He is a fantastic dentist, and brilliant with those of us with slight dental phobias". I would and do recommend him for any work needed. He gave me an implant for my front tooth over ten years ago
