Put it on your 'must see' list for a visit to Bathurst. An amazing collection displayed creatively. It can be enjoyed at so many levels.* Interactive displays* Dazzling beauty - the sweeping arrangements of the rocks and minerals give an organic feel to this display of inorganics.* Educational - chemistry/mineralogy, geology, paleontology, history and culture.* Quotes from the mineral collectors create a feeling of personal connection to the display. For anyone who has even just a passing enjoyment in rocks, minerals and geology.

The moving dinosaurs were a huge hit with my 3yr old. We enjoyed using the kids interteractive building blocks and the fossil rubbings. There were alot of cool fossils and so many beautiful rocks and minerals.

Brilliant! And not just for the bright sparkles of some of the minerals. The Dinosaur As Pets display was really fun (we're in our 60s!) The real life size dinosaur skeletons were wonderful - haven't seen anything like it since the Natural History Museum in London. The minerals were displayed so beautifully by colour and type, you can see the incredible amount of care that has gone into displaying the collection. The lovely old school building it's housed in is still being used to educate and enlighten - wonderful.

Wow what an amazing place! It has an AMAZING minerals exhibition with so much information and laid out so amazingly! Then you step through to the fossil and dinosaur exhibition and you're in for another surprise. So many fantastic fossils laid out in chronological order with so much ieasy to understand and labelled information. To top this off, a fantastic T-Rex skeleton along with a few others. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Bathurst. Or even better, get.pass for all three excellent museums here in Bathurst and see them all! Minerals and Dinosaur, Train and Mt Panorama museums..(It's actually cheaper to get a pass for all three)

Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum
An informative museum set inside an old school in Bathurst. Describes the major classes of minerals and links it to the development of fossils and Earth's geologic history. The ticket price is $15 and the detailed and informative displays are well worth an hour or so of your time.

Good place to visit especially with kids. Lot's of collection of minerals and fossil along with its history. Kids were very excited to see dinosaur skeleton. There was 4 questions for kids with answers hidden in the museum and they received a free gift after submitting the paper at the reception. Small place but overall worth visiting atleast once.
