Wallan Vet Hospital

Been dealing with Wallan/Northern Vets for 15 years now and they’re fantastic. Yes they’re a little pricey, but the convenience of having them so close to home is worth it.Back when they offered after hours emergency care our little Jack Russell had two visits to them in a period of a few months. First time he had a snake bite, they answered the phone immediately at 9pm and the vet came down to meet us there and took him in for treatment immediately. Second time our neighbours dog escaped and attacked him, we rang minutes after they’d closed and they stayed back for us to bring him and treated him there and then. Both times he would’ve died without their quick emergency care.. he wouldn’t have made it to Melbourne and we were so grateful to have emergency hours in Wallan.I now take my two cats here and Daniela is the most lovely vet and she is smitten with cats, which is rare to find in a vet! My girl is going in for a dental clean next week and they’ve been great about talking me through it and using their Best for Pet insurance has brought the cost down!

Lovely staff. Explained treatment and cost clearly to us. Our cat became very comfortable very quickly.

We just left after bringing our dog in for an emergency visit. Right from the start, we were made to feel comfortable and were seen almost immediately. Receptionist was lovely, the nurse was so sweet and friendly and the vet who saw our girl was amazing. Gave us such peace of mind. Highly recommend this practice.

Vet was lovely especially loved that she gave our dog a chance to get used to her and his surroundings before taking him into the consultation room. Extremely happy we could take our dog in without any other pets around as he isn’t the friendliest to other pets when he’s anxious. The vet was lovely and explained all the things we needed when it come to the bill for his upcoming surgery and any other questions we had to ask about the surgery. Very happy with the visit. Staff are amazing and so are the vets.

When you visit a vet you want them to treat your animal like a loved one. This is exactly how your pet is treated here. Staff are amazing, facilities are clean, modern and ergonomic which is important for the less mobile people and animals. Will only be using this vet from now on.

Today i unfortunately had to put my beloved cat down. I cannot express how grateful I am for the staff I encountered today at the Wallan Vet. The lady at the front, who I also spoke to over the phone, Kirsty or Kirsten? I think her name was, was super kind and patient with me as I cried when coming in. Dr Olivia was my cats Vet and I can’t express enough how amazing she was. She gave me time with my cuddles, she spoke so politely and with such care and explained everything before she did it (as it was the first animal I’ve ever had be put down). She took amazing care of not only Cuddles but with me and made the situation much easier for me and handled cuddles with such care and love. You can tell she truely cares about animals and I felt like the way she handled my cat was above and beyond.Thanks to these two girls who made, what feels like the hardest moment, something I can now remember as a heartfelt experience. Keep doing what you’re doing because it meant the world to me, the way you looked after cuddles last moments.

The best!! The way they treated my dog and the staff was so friendly. Would always recommend this to everyone. They stayed back their closing hours which shows how much they care about pets.

Need to share as we didn't have such a great response from them the last couple of years, in a much needed critical times.But we had 2 serious times, and despite having 3 of our fur family members seen by them since we moved to wallan 8 years ago and one who spent a lot of time there over the years we had to source alternative vets.In the end even though we were not regulars at either of these other vet clinics were seen too and felt much more support from them when we had to make some really hard decisions. Understandbly everywhere is under the pump but we were left with a very sour taste and when I received an annual text reminder and I called to say we had actually lost that pet was greeted with a very unsympathetic response.So unfortunately I am no longer one to jump on the posts to 'recommend' them anymore.

First time taking my beloved dog here and I had a wonderful experience. Super friendly and caring staff. Highly recommend
