Practical Wing Chun in Southport was where it all began for me, coming in to do a trial class :o) ...and have never looked back. When you train here, you will feel like you are training with family. Everyone is friendly and the instructors are great. If you have kids wanting to learn self defence, they also run a kids class along side the adult class.

Agree with the other 3 reviewers before me. A very family friendly and orientated class at Southport on Sunday’s. Our kids really enjoy all the Kids Fit classes in Brissy and GC. Apart from the instructors, the more senior students are also more than willing to help out the other students. Love how the classes combine both cardiovascular fitness with Wing Chun techniques. Indeed a wonderful learning environment.

I've been training with this school for about a year and it's taught me so much. I just went on the Spring Camp and despite being absolutely exhausted after all the training, I absolutely recommend! PWC has a myriad of different trainers, locations, resources and approaches to teaching Wing Chun. It doesn't just focus on the art and style of Wing Chun, but ensures you know how to practically apply the techniques in a real-life defense situation. Also, the community is fantastic and very supportive :)

Practical Wing Chun Kungfu Southport Club
If you're down the coast, come train Practical Wing Chun at Southport on Sunday mornings. I enjoy the training there with friendly people. I love how the wing chun techniques are perfect for small females like me against big opponents, using their own power against themselves and not resisting. There are also techniques focusing on controlling rather than always hitting. Hence I enjoy training wing chun and highly recommend it for anyone of any age.

A great atmosphere and a school filled with students, and instructors who want to learn and better themselves. Highly recommend giving the trial classes a go to see if this school and lineage of Wing Chun are for you. Sifu is extremely knowledgeable and has a keen focus on real life self defence.

I really enjoyed my time at Practical Wing Chun, thank you very much for all the training and support. Sifu Jack is great, as are all the other trainers, and the other students were helpful and supportive. I met lots of nice people and learnt lots of really interesting self-defence moves.

It was over 2 years ago I did my first trial lesson at Practical Wing Chun Southport and fell in love with it straight away. Great supportive family to train with and Sifu Jack is an excellent teacher and role model. To this day I still look forward to Sunday classes. If you are looking to learn a self-defence system that is based upon physics and body mechanics rather than relying on being the fastest or strongest then I highly recommend trying it out.Also, If you have children and would like them to learn self defence then you might want to check out the kids class ;)

My son has attended the class at gold coast about 6 months. He loves learning wing chun. He has learned some skills for self defence and make him stronger. All teachers and instructors are friendly and nice. I strongly recommend everyone to join the club to learn wing chun.
