Escape Zone

First timer and really enjoyed the whole experience. Quirky Alice themed rooms cleverly decorated. Escape took a range of problem solving approaches , a lot of observational skill and thorough search techniques. We were in a family group of 6 and everyone had a great time. Really recommended!

We did the Alice in Wonderland. Was very well done with interesting puzzles. The rooms set out very well with obviously thought and effort put in to add to the experience. Host was great. Friendly and knowledgeable re escape rooms and experiences. Will do again for sure. We were out in just over 30 mins. By the way. Will do the hardest escape next time.

So much fun! So much attention to detail and creativity! We were a family with a six and 11 year old and had a fantastic time doing the wonderland room (with lots of hints from our lovely, friendly host Tom). Would definitely recommend and will be back again for sure!

Did the Alice in Wonderland Room as a family. Had a great time, the host was friendly and welcoming. The puzzles were fun and engaging. Would definitely do it again

We came here in the summer and had a great time at Escape Zone. The man at the front desk was welcoming and the escape room (Meltdown) was designed in a way that was really challenging yet engaging. We had a great time at our first escape room. We've done more escape rooms since, and Escape Zone set the bar high. We will return here if we drop in town :)

We had a lot of fun in the room, the structure of it was so well thought out and kept us entertained. I think the difficulty works best for smaller groups. Amazing customer service. Definitely going back.

Have played every room here since they opened, including some which are gone now. You can feel the passion the owners have to trying to craft the best experience than can and is by far our favorite escape room experience in Newcastle. Looking forward to the upcoming new rooms :)

Visiting from Canberra, came here on my 40th birthday with 3 close friends (for their unbirthdays, I guess you could say). I had booked in the Alice in Wonderland room as part of a big 40th birthday extravaganza because I'm a bit of a Lewis Carroll fanboy, but we had a few hours before my birthday dinner so we also did Caramel Chaos because it was a quiet day and the hosts were kind enough to let us do it as it was a quiet day. So this review is for 2 rooms.I must say the Alice in Wonderland room theme was on point. I've done some immersive Alice experiences (ie. virtual escape room at Metaphysica in Canberra, and CluedUpp Games outdoor virtual game) and this one definitely competes. The puzzles were also very good, although one part tripped us up and required a clue - it might benefit from having something in the room that somehow subtly points to it, idk. Look, I loved the room simply because it was Wonderland themed.Once it was done we were about to leave, then we asked if they had time to let us into another room. We had the choice of Caramel Chaos or the Egyptian one, but since I was the birthday boy I chose Caramel Chaos because I wanted to see if we could beat the best time, which was looking feasible. The theme, again = on point. I've never done a chocolate factory themed room before, and this was very well done. I keep mentioning to my friends how unique this theme is (imho). We put our puzzle-solving hats on and got out in 16 min 47 secs which was a record apparently, and our time went up on a board.As for my overall holiday experience, we had booked in 3 escape rooms in 3 different venues over 3 days, although we ended up doing 5. This was one of the ones where we came back for a second room, and it was the place I chose for my 40th birthday. The hosts were exceptionally generous for letting us do a second room on the spot. We also had a great discussion about escape rooms in general. Thank you to Escape Zone for making my 40th birthday celebrations extra special.

What a great experience, even though I stuffed up my booking the owners were so accommodating and made our time there worth it! The room itself was excellent, the puzzles were hard enough to make it interesting but not so hard that you can't get through it at all.What a great place!
