Thanks for great priced service, changing my blades and replacing things I forgot to say needing doing

Called to book in my car for a service last year and got a quote over the phone for 300-400 which was fine. Dropped the car and then picked up the next to see the mechanic didn’t call me about all the extra stuff he decided to do with my car and tried to charge me $750!My partner went back in to chat with him about it and he just kept shrugging his shoulders and then went on to say “I don’t remember giving out a quote on the phone”. Not my problem, never been to a mechanic before where they don’t call to let me know certain filter replacements were required and they decide to change wiper blades and other things I never asked for .Managed to get the charge down to $500 but still a joke we had to fight for it. Terrible service, sad that this is one of our local businesses we “should be supporting” . Won’t be coming back here .
