Neil is an absolute legend, he is a encyclopedia of engine knowledge and will make sure you have all the information that you need before you make a big decision about your car. Neil and the team always kept me up to date with what was going on durring the rebuild and what I needed to do once I had received the engine back. I just wanted to thank Neil who was very honest man and provided me a quote for a new motor. He then suggested to speak to my insurance to see if the damage was covered. If it wasn't for Neil I would of been out of pocket, but instead my insurance paid me out. Thank you for being amazing and so honest. I could not thank you enough! Highly recommend the engine shop!

Fantastic customer service at The Engine Shop. I bought a 1Hz Coaster Motorhome with a suspected main seal leak. Neil was extremely kind and spent 30 minutesgiving me free impromptu consultancy on how to diagnose / confirm a rather tricky job* for another(!) mechanic (with my gearbox out!) to try and resolve. Neil gave me product names and part numbers, unbelievable! I cannot thank Neil enough for his expertise and honesty - his sincere care has made a lasting impression.* Spoiler, it was not the main seal!

Neil was a pleasure to deal with.I took my Smokey Aurion 2007 to a few places and they all advised me to get a new engine.I called Neil and he said your engine is fine, it is just a sludge problem in both rocker covers. For less than $1500 he solved my smoke problem by removing and cleaning them and the very clogged oil galleries.Neil and Ben were awesome and I would highly recommend. A good clean and flush, new oil and filter and the car runs fine now.

Neil Herbert, known to be one of the best engine builders in WA, lived up to his reputation from my experience as a customer at The Engine shop. my 2006 STI was undergoing a new Juiced up" engine build. We were slightly delayed because of Covid-19 Virus

I was in the unfortunate situation of needing my 4wd engine rebuilt, it was such a difficult decision for me but Neil was fantastic. He is very professional, knowledgeable and he came across genuinely caring, not just trying to make a sale but to be honest about the situation and what can be done. The work he did rebuilding my engine has been excellent, I highly recommend Neil and The Engine Shop!

Ever so grateful. I have a symptom of blown head gasket on my car. Neil and his staff put my worry in perspective did a test and found that I have nothing to worry about.I could easily been convinced to spend thousands.They saved me all that. Top guys.
