Great experience shopping here. I was looking for an affordable but still nice acoustic guitar (been playing guitar for 10 years, exclusively electrics), and the owner was very good at working out what I wanted and guiding me through testing some different guitars to narrow down what I like.I really appreciated how much personal attention he provided with this; i feel like he wasnt just pushing whatever guitar had the best margin for him but was genuinely trying to help me find the perfect instrument for my tastes.

Very rude staff with unfriendly attitude. When gently asking for a refund of 2 music books that were purchased only within 2 hours, the answer was “that’s your problem not my problem”. To be honesty it was a good customer experience... Hope the owner can make some improvement.

Staff member was so rude! From the moment we walked in everything we said he had a passive aggressive or combative response for. Every question we asked he acted like we had deeply offended him by asking that. I've never had such a bad and bizarre customer service experience in my life- it's like he hated us. Still, we were about to buy the product but decided against it because of how rude he had been. Then he sent us off with a sarcastic tirade about us using his services for no benefit to him.

The shop is in very close proximity to where I live but unfortunately I have had 2 experiences with this shop and both of them turned out to be pretty disappointing. First time I went there wanting to buy a guitar, the guy I presume is the owner; asked me to not to touch the guitars if I wasn't going to end up buying them and asked me do my research at home when I told him I haven't chosen one and wasn't sure of what I wanted to buy yet. I left there and bought a guitar from a different shop on the same day.Second time I went there and I purchased a guitar I found out that it was buzzing when I plugged it into the the amp at home. Called the shop on the same day and the first thing he said was that he has a strict no refund policy and gave me a lecture on the Victorian consumer law.

Because of my personal reason I have bought the same book twice at that shop. When I wanted to return the book he let me come again whenever I need another new book to exchange. The reason is because he could only do exchange but not return. After 1 month I finally need a new book, but when I went to his shop he argued with several weird and unacceptable reasons so he didn’t exchange. I think he is not reliable nor honest person.

Phil is a gentleman and the best person in Melbourne to give your Fender to. Or Gibson. Or any guitar. Treats it like it is his own. I have found Steve to be always approachable, knowledgeable and friendly. I have never ever felt uncomfortable trying out instruments there. Great place.

The staff were extremely friendly, when I brought in my newly purchased guitar I went in the store with my guitar to buy strings, not only did the staff member teach me how to use my locking tuners, but he also adjusted my pickups for free, and did a quick run down on the fret and neck condition of my guitar. I had a solid experience at Syndal Music and I highly recommend musicians to visit this store as they were extremely helpful and patient with me.

I went in today just to look at few guitars as mine broke in the morning. I just walked in and said I wanted something under 500 bucks and the person working at that time showed me two guitars straight away. And I liked one and bought one. Pretty straightforward and didnt really have a problem. Maybe I'm not too sensitive, dunno. (Btw I usually walk into shops not well dressed to see how staff usually reacts and I felt ok here)I just wanted to write a review because theres not much product details on the website to browse and they have some great guitars and some might be missing out. The reviews here looks like there needs to be some improvement, I'm wondering if I got the already improved treatment?Anyways, thanks for the service and hope all criticism from these reviews are taken constructively. Keep it up.
