Great place to rest, especially as a cyclist.Very tasty food and friendly staff. The only negative thing we can mention is, that the water tube started to make a squeaky noise at 4 am. Which kept us awake.Thank you for your hospitality.Cheers..

THE place to stay on your journey. It is simple, but hey, you are here for the people and the landscape mate. Right?

Raymond our host made us feel at home from the start , rooms neat & tidy , mullet dinner best fish meal in years. The place may be somewhat dated but the great hospitality more than makes up for it.

Granted, it was only a phone call, but quite rude and abrupt. I understand the rooms are booked out, that happens. Then denied seating at the restaurant, that happens. But when I asked if I could at least refill my water bottle (I’m currently walking from Adelaide to Melbourne and this was a stop I desperately needed to at least get water from) the person at the other end of the phone was very abrupt, rude, and stated “we’re closed”.I was unaware requesting some tap water would be that much of an inconvenience to warrant such a rude manner.Update: the owner’s reply is highly inaccurate: my request for drinking water, as well as other requests, were very clearly for the next day, as I had stated it was for ‘tomorrow’. I had no intention of turning up at 11pm, nor am I aware of where this time was fabricated from on behalf of the reply.

This was a gem of a stay.Raymond, the owner and our host called us enroute to check on us, prep heated our room and popped the lights on for our arrival. The location is quite remote so these little touches were most appreciated. The accommodation is as promised. It reminded us of the good old days of roadside motel stays. Very nostalgic. The food was absolutely exceptional. It’s obvious why locals love this place. The pizzas, like all the meals are homemade from scratch. Raymond is an experienced chef from Sydney and it shows. It was a stunning mealHighly recommend a stay. Come for the nostalgia and enjoy the company and amazing food.

Great hospitality, good food, and a clean and welcoming room. The owner was incredibly accommodating with our delayed arrival and cooked us some great pizzas to welcome us. Good chat and a fresh beer made us forget the long trip, and we also got very good info on the area and tips for exploring. 100% recommended!

Ray was very welcoming, cooked us up a couple of pizzas and washed them down with a few cold beers. Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. All for an affordable price.

We arrived late afternoon after passing the motel on our way to Salt Creek, after viewing the accommodation at the store in Salt Creek we turned back to the Coorong Hotel Motel, where Raymond greeted us. We went out after putting our luggage in our room and returned at dusk. We quickly realised there was a power cut and Raymond regretfully told us the power was going to be off for six hours. He served us a welcome drink and whilst we chatted to the other two guests set about cooking our meal in the dark! We had a fantastic steak and salad. Whilst we were eating it another four guests arrived and Raymond set about cooking for them too. Considering the adverse conditions we had a lovely meal with the friendly Raymond. Although breakfast is not usually on the menu, Raymond happily provided a tray of cereal, fruit juice etc as we were leaving early in the morning. Brilliant - he deserves to do well!

Thanks to Ray for looking after Lachie and myself on Tuesday. Wonderful, down to earth service with a personal touch. Very quiet location, basic but serviceable rooms and a characterful bar. (The beer was nice and cold!)
