Tuckeroo Cottages
I’ll start with a bit of background for this review, ie, I’ve been travelling for weeks now, lots of different accommodation (inland and coast) with varying prices. Tuckeroo Cottages offer a quiet, nature loving paradise with captivating views of Mt Barney and in this it didn’t disappoint. Staying for 3+ nights gave me a discounted rate so I booked for 6 and as I booked 3-4 days prior to arriving payment was to be made in full/no refunds. While my cottage, ie, Blue Wren, was well stocked for continental breakfasts (minus bread) a few things were “off”, eg, the smoke detector was disabled and the prior cleaning of it left a lot to be desired, eg, mouldy blinds and bathroom ceiling, dirty windows/glass door (with its own wasp nest), unusable freezer in small fridge (door came off in my hand) because it was 98% iced up and the list goes on. There’s also a pavilion on site where guests can gather to use BBQ facilities etc or just hang out but it looked as though it hadn’t been used or cleaned in months and the large fridge there, which guests are told they can use to store extra food, was dirty. The bottom line is whether guests are few and far between (or not) amenities should be kept in good condition at all times after all we are paying guests not friends. I left there with the feeling of a ‘who cares, money coming in, slap dash attitude’ ran the place.

Awesome little cabin with everything a couple needs for a relaxing weekend away. A couch would be a welcome addition, however.

We just stayed 3 days in the Blue Wren cottage. To contradict the poor review by 'emile maifret' a year ago, access to the cottages was easy, the breakfast exceeded expectations, and the shower was spotless on arrival and worked fine. Highly recommended.

Beaut cottages with an unobstructed view to Mount Maroon. Very handy to the launch point for Mt Barney walks. Cottage (Blue Wren) is very well equipped and the hosts are charming but unobtrusive.

Beautiful couples getaway would recommend to the adventure (plenty to do in the area) and outdoor lovers with a cute cottage to reside in.

A beautiful getaway from the city life.Less than a 2 hour drive from Brisbane you find yourself in a scenic location with stunning views and tranquil atmosphere. Family friendly, with your own fire pit and BBQ station. I would describe it as a luxury Glamping experience. If you’re here for more than relaxation, the nearby Mount Barney makes for an excellent trekking experience, but be sure to read trekking instructions before you venture into the hills. The owners are a lovely couple who have all arrangements made in advance and let you enjoy your peace and calm independently.Definitely an amazing way to explore the scenic rim region!
