This is a great place for kid. The staff are super friendly and love to explain how the train work. I lost my wallet during the ride, and it was found before I realised I lost it! Thanks you so much for this great experience!

Great place for adults and kids. Very cheap admission and food drinks very cheap. Train rides $2.50 is a bargain. Shame only open one day a month. BBQ, picnic tables, grass area. Model rail road under construction. All volunteer staff. Get there at least one hour before 10am open or risk park on busy road and walk a mile.

This is one of the best places to take young children. I visited with my second generation, having been a frequent visitor more than 30 years ago. Great place for energetic youngsters and littlies alike. Keeping alive the magic of steam trains. Very well run. Make sure to purchase entry tickets in advance. Train rides purchased on the day.

Great place to spend a day with kids. Train ride is certainly a big fun for kids and adults. Its beautifully presented and well maintained place with this miniature train ride with fully functioning tracks, signals and many things around it.

It's a great experience that my kids love and want to keep coming back for another go. You can spend hours here if you bring lunch or just come for a ride or two. Usually busy in the morning and you will wait longer for a turn than later in the day.

A great day out with the family in the gorgeous bush of Galston Valley. The train ride was phenomenal with tunnels, bridges and such a long, long track I didn't want it to end. Obviously it was very busy but worth the lines for such a unique experience with the kids. There were clean facilities, sausage sizzle and canteen and lots of tables and benches around the venue to sit and relax and watch trains go round the tracks. The lines moved fairly quickly as they had several trains running the long track at once. The members running the event were friendly and well oragnised. We will definitely be back for the next open day!

Tired of the same boring outings with the children? Then try a day at Galston Valley Railway. This fantastic miniature railway will put a grin on the faces of adults and children alike. Enjoy a bushland ride (or two or three) being pulled by a steam, diesel or electric locomotive. Hungry? Wolf down a tasty sausage sandwich. Just across the gorge from Hornsby (a scenic drive by itself) or up New Line and Old Northern Roads. Open monthly (see website for next public day). Plenty of free parking. I was there yesterday amongst a crowd of smiling, happy people. It was great to hear the steam whistle and smell the funnel smoke. Galston Valley Railway is run by volunteers who love to show you the best train set in New South Wales.
