This place really surprised me. I wasn't expecting this little gem in the middle of East Maitland. The food was great. Went for the spicy option myself. It wasn't overly spicy but you definitely knew it has chilli in it. Overall we are gonna be back to try our other favourite dishes. This dinner was an experiment that turned into a lovely experience.

Do yourself a favour & try their eel donburi or the ramen with chicken katsu!! Will was absolutely lovely as our waiter.

Great new restaurant in East Maitland.We tried the Spicy Pork Ramen, Salmon/Avo Sushi, Gyoza and Spring Rolls, all highly recommended!Will be back to try the rest of the menu!

Deliciously prepared Japanese food. A great variety to choose from that is very fresh & prepared in a traditional manner.This restaurant is a must visit asap, plus its BYO, a winner on all points.

Just enjoyed our second meal at Moon and it was fabulous (again)! We shared Edamame and Gyoza for starters, then had a Seafood Udon soup each for main. It was delicious! Japanese comfort food at its best. Slippery, fat udon noodles in a wonderful broth with a very generous serve of mixed seafood and vegetables. We'll be back - next week in fact. There is a lot to work through on the menu. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended.

Delicious and well balanced Teriyaki meal made fresh and in excellent time Chicken Katsu was so crispy and a great mayonnaise used, our server Will was very hospitable and looked after us. Will be coming back!!!

The food is delicious. The meals that include miso and rice are generously sized. The staff are lovely and attentive. This restaurant is great addition to East Maitland.

Beautiful food. Karage chicken! Donburi! Large sushi rolls! It's all so good. Very good value and such a welcome change to the usual stuff in East Maitland.

Got the eel donburi, it was nice with a generous amount of eel. Also got the salmon avo sushi roll, the roll is WAY too big with too much rice and lots of salmon and avo. If the rolls were a little bit smaller it would actually be better. The rice was too fresh leading to it being a bit mushy like porridge.8/10, will definitely be back thank you.
