Brian Zhang's Fingerstyle Guitar School

Fantastic guitar teacher!! Brian's passion and love for music overflows and is completely contagious :) My son has always loved bass guitar, and has always felt less enthusiastic about acoustic. It only took one or 2 lessons with Brian to completely turn this around! He has only just started learning acoustic guitar with Brian, but is now more enthusiastic about his instrument that ever before.

I had Brian as my guitar tutor back in Year 12 last year and was able to improve upon my musicianship, fingerstyle skills, confidence with guitar performance and ultimately helped me passionate about music and guitar playing. I would recommended Brian for anyone who is wanting to learn guitar because he creates positive vibes in his lessons and is extremely patient with his students.

Brian has been my son's guitar teacher for 3 years. He is a good encourager and knows how to create a relaxed environment in music lessons. You won't feel the pressure as in the traditional stressful teaching style. Beacuse of that, my son can easily engage with learning the guitar.We enjoy the performance concerts, it has become one of our family's entertainment activities!We appreciate his fun way of communication with students & parents each week. Over the years, we have established good friendships!

I'm a mature student and have tried over the years to learn guitar. It wasn't until I started learning from Brian that something clicked and I was able to finally play. I am really pleased with my progress after a year of classes. Brian has quite alot of knowledge when it comes to the guitar and plays a diverse range of styles and genres.

Brian is an excellent music teacher. He has been my ukulele instructor for about 3 years. There is limited sheet music for ukulele finger picking style and Brian has really facilitated my learning by writing sheet music for songs I enjoy that is tailored to my level and development goals. Brian also teaches my son and is a dedicated teacher with a tool box of techniques and games that really engages young children.

Brian is a wonderful teacher - my son has learnt so much from him and plays beautifully now! Brian’s lessons are enjoyable due to his warm sense of humour and sensitivity to his pupils learning style and personality- I highly recommend him !

Brian is an excellent guitar teacher and mentor. I'm a mature age student who thought I'd go through life unable to play an instrument. 18 months with Brian has completely change that! I performed in front of an audience for the first time in December last year. I couldn't have done that without his teaching and mentoring and trust. Brian really cares about his students and their progress!I initially hired Brian for guitar lessons for my daughter on the recommendation of staff at Carlingford Music. Brian has since taken me on as a student, so enthused was I by watching him teach my daughter. Since then guitar has become a central hobby and passion of mine. His enthusiasm is wholly contagious. he knows how to cajole and encourage both adults and younger children - a very rare skill.Brian is a patient, thorough, and fun teacher. He knows how to present information in accessible chunks and to make music accessible to those who've not played an instrument before. It's not often you can say you've had teachers who'll change your life, but Brian has definitely been one of those.I'm looking forward to the next step of my guitar journey with Brian as I start learning the more complex challenges of fingerstyle guitar!

Brian has helped me to improve my technique in fingerstyle guitar as well my musical listening abilities and my overall perspective of music.
