This amazing cafe was suggested to us by a nice lady at Information centre in Bairnsdale on our one day visit. as we asked them to recommend a nice cafe that's kids friendly. it was spot on .... it is located sort of next to or part of a nursery/ gift shop. the outdoor sitting of the cafe was part of the nursery with a nice view of pots and plants. the gift shop next to it was amazing.the quality of coffee, carrot cake and the scone was amazing. the service was fast considering the place was super busy. the price was great, I was shocked with comparing the price of sweet and coffee in a cafe in Melbourne and here in Bairnsdale.... very reasonable. so glad we tried the place. recommend the place.

The cafe is attached to the garden centre. You can sit outside next to the plants if you choose to. I went here for breakfast with my partner and were pleasantly surprised. It's a bit hidden away from the main street but definitely a gem. Big brekkie and the ricotta pancakes were delicious!! Highly recommended.

Very, very decent prices for what you're getting. Coffee's good (I'm from Melbourne lol) and it's attached to a nursery with lovely plants and decor. What's not to love?

Failed to get 1 of the 2 meals ordered via Hungry hungry app. Was told that one meal wasn't ordered had to show receipt before being believed. Got lunch elsewhere

Tucked away next to the nursery and household giftware, this cafe is a must visit. Value for money, the food is stylish yet reminiscent of a hearty, home cooked meal. While table service isn’t offered, the staff are lovely and we always have had a positive experience. Looking forward to visiting again.

New Leaf is my favourite cafe in the area, always love coming back.The outside dining area is superb being in the garden centre, staff are always friendly and the food is always great. Decent sized servings for a good price instead of tiny, expensive meals.The food is also simple and honest instead of going overboard with exotic ingredients, which is why it’s a favourite for me.

nice place to have a relax morning breakfast. Love the service and ambient. Food were great and price reasonable. Highly recommended. Ordered kid's nacos, chicken sandwich and big brekkie. fresh and nice.

We’ve been coming here for years, always loved the vibe, coffee and food. Today however (understandably it was a public holiday and people probably didn’t want to be working) we noticed a lack of care/ friendly service. Firstly, we walked in and sat outside, ordering straight from the barcode as we usually do. Then a lady comes out after ordering to tell us from afar that we have to come back and order off the limited blackboard near front register (although there was no sign actually saying normal menu not able to be ordered from, it just looked like an extra specials board). So we swapped our meals and sat back down. My partner is pescatarian (only eats seafood) so ordered the seafood chowder. In hindsight we should have asked about this being fish only, as it had bacon in it. My partner had to pick all this bacon out. When asking Sue/Suzie (lady bringing our food out) if all the chowder has bacon in it she had absolutely zero customer service or understanding and simply answered “yep” while walking away - didn’t give our question a further thought. We aren’t sure what what we did wrong to experience such a cold response. We usually love supporting New Leaf and their excellent food and service so this has left us feeling a bit disappointed.
