Pure water – lots of itI guess at the end of the day, water is actually the most precious of all our life sustaining commodities.After much deliberation to have a water bore drilled at our property, we were fortunate to engage a reputable drilling contractor to do the work – Stephen Cox of Action Water Boring, Lindenow. At the outset Stephen visited us to assess the situation and assured us there would be a good supply of water and at what depth it would be found, a price of what it would cost was given, and a time frame as to when he would get started. From the outset we knew what to expect.As the time approached to have the work done, Stephen arrived to reassess the property, made a decision together with us as to where exactly to place the bore, and to consider access for his large machinery, vehicles and equipment without causing damage to trees, garden and driveways.We were impressed with his care and respect for his clients’ property.Finally things were happening. The drilling rig was standing high in our garden. I must say it looked very impressive, but not intrusive. A small excavator dug a pit as required for the drilling process and the soil removed was neatly placed beside it.The next morning Stephen and his assistant Dave began four days of a most interesting drilling process. It was amazing to watch. Stephen and Dave concentrated on continually assessing and recording details of the samples that were taken as the bore was drilled further into the ground.As for us we were fascinated. Gradually the drilling went deeper and deeper until Stephen was satisfied he had reached a plentiful supply of good quality water.Within five days, they constructed a 164m deep water bore protruding 30cm above the lawn surface to provide us with an unending quantity of pure water for our garden and house.We now will be able to grow all the food we need, grow shade trees for hot summer days, shelter from strong coastal winds, maintain habitats and perches for birds, enjoy green lawns and abundant colourful flowers all year round.Throughout the entire process Stephen took due care, kept us informed about what was happening, was satisfied with the result, and assured us we would be happy with the outcome.But it did not finish there. Removal of the equipment, the machinery and the refilling of the pit was done without delay, and without damage to our garden. To top it all off a supply of topsoil was brought in to fill any indentations that may have been made on the lawn when the drilling rig was moved away.
