Fantastic fun, swimming with green turtles and colourful, iridescent fish is a delightful way to spend a day on the great barrier reef. The Ocean Free crew are knowledgeable, too. Although their understanding of how warmer sea temperature is affecting the reef needs more research. The snorkeling is a great way to experience life on the reef about 30kms off Cairns. Worth a visit.

A fabulous day on the Great Barrier Reef. The trip out was not long. They didn't take us to the Outer Reef, so we lost almost no travel time. On the way, they briefed the scuba divers and the snorkellers. All equipment provided. Really good crew to passenger ratio, which meant we were well looked after. A local company, not a cookie cutter experience from a multinational. Good choice of food at lunch, healthy snacks for morning and afternoon tea. Small bar for that refreshing ale. Coral is in full recovery mode after the devestation from the last cyclone. Plenty to see, really good fish life, very colourful. Really worth going. Go with the friendly team - Ocean Freedom.

We took the ocean free tour (the sail boat) to Green Island and had a wonderful time. The staff, boat, and food were all great. It was rainy in the morning and that led to choppier waves. If you weren't scared of getting wet, it was super fun to stand on the front. But there is a section in the back of the boat to stay dry.Snorkelling was really cool. It was sad to see how much of the reef has bleached but there still is reef and lots of vibrant fish. We even saw a sea turtle.Green island was decent with gorgeous beaches and really cool and diverse bird species. The alcohol was very reasonably priced.Sailing back was amazing, and they even turned of the motors and let out all the sails. I would highly recommend wearing and bringing sun screen as the sun reflects right off the water.

Amazing trip to Green Island with the Ocean Free crew. Small group, and while the sailboat can be slower than the other options, it's well worth it for the ambiance. We were well fed and cared for during the trip, and the opportunity to take a quick look at Green Island was nice too.

Imp point-1. Wear slippers and go.2. Light clothes that dry soun3. Your time if going diving/snorkeling4. Sea sickness bags5. Poly bag to jet wet clothes6. Your preference of snacks and drinks.Your boat to the Great Barrier Reef. We need to register at the barrier station. Starts around 8am to 4.30pm, so if you don't enjoy driving/snorkeling, won't suggest you to take this ride as it gets boring and sea sick..Food and drinks served inside, billed at the time of disembarking the boat..Helpful, pleasant and joyful crew who made the full journey enjoyable....At any given point they did not feel irritated..No shoes or slippers allowed inside the deck for safety reasons. Also the boat is fully carpeted inside and due to weather condition/people diving, wet surroundings..Snorkeling shoes & costume provided. Wearing light clothes if highly recommended as clothes tend to get wet.

We went out on Ocean Free with captain Mike and his crew. It was an amazing day, we circumnavigated Green Island on foot, swam with sharks and turtles (I saw a stone fish), had an amazing lunch and met wonderful people. A first class service.
