Lovely place for a driving break. Music, cosy indoor space, sheltered outdoor and grassed area for kids. Small selection of potential gifts. Good tea and the food was tempting but too soon after breakfast for me.

Quint little cafe with lovely food. Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday, the cafe wasn't too busy and the food came out in good time. Ordered some Barney's burgers and on first glance it was a decent portion with some seemingly blonde chips. However upon tasting, the chips were actually very well cooked with perfectly crunchy outside and a pillowy centre, topped with just the right amount of chicken salt. The burger itself had generous sized patties and we loved the amount of beetroot on the burgers - generous yet not overpowering. Wish we BYO'd some relish as it would have made the burgers truly amazing.

Stopped on the way back up the Hume and grabbed a coffee and a Barney burger. More of a home style burger, but was really delicious. So much flavour in the patty. Will definitely be stopping the next time we pass.

Perfect spot for a late breakfast on our way home from Melbourne. Just a quick turn off the M31 and you're there. The meals came out quickly, exactly as ordered, and we were able to pick up some sweet treats to enjoy later. They have a nice selection of crafted and food items for sale too.

Great spot to stop if you're on your way down the highway. Had good bacon and egg rolls and kids chips and nuggets was a good sized serve too. Right next to the rest stop for toilets which were fine too. Service was super friendly and helpful. Plenty of covered seating outside and a small area indoors too. I'll definitely stop over here again another time - recommended!

We had a fabulous experience at Barney’s cafe. We arrived as the kitchen closed and they were still super accomodating offering us wraps, pies and toasties. My toddler was getting cranky and yelling about a baby chino. The barista/waitress heard this and made her a baby chino with extra chocolate which meant we were able to eat in peace. Thank you so much for being so lovely towards us! Definitely a good stop just off the Hume when on a road trip.

Great spot to stop between Melbourne to Canberra. Easy access off the Hume with a new looking turn towards Bookham.Menu has a vegetarian/vegan section - I had a vegan burger and a cold pressed green juice. Lovely, friendly owners and staff, indoor seating and lots of outdoor seating undercover with blinds to protect from wind and rain and also heaters. Historic church is next door too.
