Found this place via the google search bar so gave it a go.It's located on the quieter northern end of Rundle St. I was the first customer to arrive for the night. The restaurant isn't big, enough to accommodate around so 22 guests.I ordered:▶️ seafood okonomiyaki (Delicous)▶️ agadeshi Tofu- decent portion, Tofu was cooked beautifully, there was probably too much soup in it. There was chilli in the base which I wasn't aware of.▶️ Unagi Don- the main dish for the night. It was super delicious, rich and just the right portion. I wish the stone pot grilled the rice, that would have topped the dish for meOverall service was great, dishes were above average.

Not a busy night, one man kitchen so expect your entree will need at least 30mins to come.Over priced with food tasting quite bland. Didn't experience much of a service for its price.Would suggest sushi hub if you just looking for sushi.Go for any restaurant with stir fry beef would get a better flavour of a $50 tepanyaki that was just warm in temp & tasteless within.Spent close to 100 (nil drinks inc.) leaving with an 60% full stomach & headed for elsewhere for comfort bite.

One of my favourites in the Rundle Street area. Your experience will definitely vary depending on what you get. My personal favourites are the Unagi don for a substantial meal - 8.5/10, the pumpkin dumplings which were surprisingly delicious and had a great creamy balance 9.5/10. A must try if anything. The mushroom nigiri was also very unique with the separation of the earthy flavours and muted rice flavours - 9/10.The inside of the establishment is well furnished and service is moderately paced.

We enjoyed our time at Swordman's Kitchen on Rundle Street.Love the brick wall in the store with a lonely sword hanging on it.Excellent services, the waitress is friendly with smile on her face all the time.My friend and I didn't expected much about the food as it was our first time but we were both amazed in the end.I am in love with the pumpkin dumplings.YOU MUST TRY IT!It is completely beyond my expectation and it becomes one of my must-order dishes from this store.Mention about the Ramen, you can choose the level of the spiciness when you order.I requested for medium and I was pleasantly surprised. It's not a typical Japanese Ramen, but I loved it.In terms of drinking, there is Snow Beer, hahaha, one more point added for that.As we had lunch on a Sunday afternoon, there wasn't many people, and the food was served quickly. However, observing that there is only the chef and the waitress in the store, I don’t know how would they manage during the peak time...Anyway, good food is worth the wait.

A hole in the wall Vietnamese-Japanese eatery in the city. We had the una don and aburi salmon don- it was warm, comforting and delicious! The onset egg was cooked perfectly however was cold (would have preferred it warm). Despite this, we will still return for these rice bowls!

The mains were good, but weren't as good as the entrees. The karaage chicken was so tender it melted. The pumpkin dumpling was good, but the cream sauce it was in was divine. It was almost laksa-esque and it was the best thing. We could have happily ordered an entire bowl of just the sauce. The ambiance is a close, intimate setting, perfect for date nights.

Small restaurant with dim ambiance, great for a date. Okonomiyaki was very small, tastes alright. Chicken karaage was also a small portion and not crispy, but the chicken was tender and juicy. Unagi Don was pretty good, except there were a million tiny bones I had to pick out. Egg was cooked to perfection. Steak Don was cooked very nicely but the taste didn't have a wow factor. Very pricey for what you get. The waitress wasn't that friendly as well.

Favourite restaurant in Adelaide.Have eaten at @swordmanskitchen around a dozen times since discovering it a month or so ago. Sitting here quietly you realise everyone that has finished is kind of amazed at what they’ve just eaten and always provide thanks to each of the two-person team. One floor, one chef.I must admit I’ve not been to a place where so many patrons feel inclined to actually thank the chef for their meal. It’s quite something sitting there quietly watching. They just have it down pat, and the food is incredibly, incredibly good and considered. Every single time. I am slowly working my way through the menu and have never had a single thing I haven’t absolutely loved.Japanese green tea is like an unofficial benchmark and they are very generous with the tea, constantly offering refills of your pot.Comfortable, small spot but totally calm and happy, I’ve never been so fond of an eating place ever. I would just hang here all day or night if I could.Several times per week will have to suffice…Can not recommend highly enough and really suggest to give it a go. You definitely will not be disappointed. The only people disappointed in Swordsman Kitchen are the people that unfortunately are unable to get a table.#swordsmankitchen #japanesefood #rundlestreet #adelaiderestaurantsPhotos:Takoyaki - Fried octopus ballsUnagi Don - Smoked BBQ Eel.Kaki Fried Tempura Smoky Bay OystersSteak DonNasu No Gomadare - Miso EggplantAgodashi TofuTeriyaki Tori Don - Grilled Chicken ThighsEdamameMiso soupSpicy Calamari DonCrispy Fried Renkon Chips
