I want to say a massive thank you to Cawood and Lynette of Calyn Mechanical Emerald. We came to Emerald desperately needed some radiator heating hoses replaced for our 1996 Toyota Coaster. We called around a few businesses and no one could fit us in for a few weeks. We called Calyn Mechanical and they were able to help us within the week. They always try to help travelers whenever they can. They went out of their way to help us get back on the road asap. They tracked down our hoses and had them ordered for us. Cawood did an awesome job fixing our bus and kept us informed throughout the job so there were no nasty surprises. I highly recommend this business. They are good honest down to earth people who really care about providing a quality service. I don't normally leave reviews, but if it wasn't for the team at Calyn I think I'd be stuck in Emerald still. We pulled in during the middle of our trip with a mechanical issue and the team were quick to promptly and accurately diagnose the root cause of the issue. They were also able to identify a separate issue, and fixed it on the spot and only charged me for the replacement part and not for the labour. I am very appreciative of the team and the high quality of customer service and expertise they demonstrated in rectifying my problem. Thank you again to the team at Calyn for your professionalism! You saved our holiday :)

Many thanks to Caywood and Lynette - we blew a turbo in our Ford Ranger coming into Emerald late Friday afternoon, Caywood was able to squeeze us in to complete a diagnostic when the Ford dealership was unable to (their earliest appointment was in 3 weeks).The new turbo was ordered on Monday and the ute was ready for pick up Wednesday.Caywood and his wife were lovely and professional to deal with - every cost was upfront.We arrived safely in Darwin - only a little behind schedule.Thanks again Caywood and Lynette.Justin Hoad & family.

Very professional response when I had problems with our caravans bearings, advice was very informative and at know stage was there any hint of trying to take advantage of us. Would thoroughly recommend Calyn should you need any mechanical repairs while in Emerald and I'm very confident you wouldn't be ripped off!

Calyn was very helpful when I had issues with a car I bought down in Brisbane. My car was still under warranty from the dealership and Calyn worked with the dealership to get everything fixed up for me. Calyn even picked up on some recalls for my car. I was kept in the loop along the way. Ultimately I got the impression that they cared about getting the car back to me as quickly as they could and not just about getting paid.

Calyn took our car in last minute on a Friday afternoon to fix up some issues with the brakes. We're extremely grateful that he helped us out on such short notice and got the job done. Excellent service, great price and an honest bloke.

Best Mechanic in Emerald. We were stuck in Emerald due to a breakdown and we’re attempting to get it sorted through another auto business who couldn’t fix for several days. Cawood and Lynette had us back on the road that day. Quality, efficient business with the bonus of being lovely people. Can’t thank them enough.

As travellers from NSW in a time of desperacy our first opinion was that these guys were fantastic and very grateful they were willing to help us. 2 stars because the inner axel seal and service was done. Everything spiralled down hill from here, after about 24 full hours at the shop we got a call to say our optima battery (less than a year old) was cooked, won’t charge, won’t hold any charge and we’d have to purchase a new one from them. We were hit with an over $1000 bill and things such as our winch isolator changed (when we did not authorise it and which now the winch conveniently DOES NOT WORK). The optima battery was fully charged, scanned and tested by our retailer, nothing wrong with it (is currently back in our car). Our retailer explained that it being as low as it was could only be done by operational error (eg. Leaving lights on or doors open). After calling the mechanic (which we were yelled at and abused) we expressed as if we FELT it was sabotage in which they then played victim from then on. End result is us being stuck with an extra battery and no refund, as the mechanics solution of sending it back isn’t possible for consumers as it is dangerous goods and requires a registered business to transport (which they would have known). We were wished BAD upon with the mechanic hoping our battery fails and we get stuck in the middle of nowhere on our travels. Avoid the hassle and go elsewhere. Very upset with this whole situation.
