I was looking for a special outfit to wear to my daughter’s wedding. With my body shape and long back finding an outfit to fit was an impossible task. Having a dress made to fit was my best option. Living in a regional centre it is really difficult to source quality fabrics. I researched on line for couture fabrics and ordered a number of samples from different shops including Fabric Collection. Prior to mailing my fabric samples Vanessa contacted me and consulted me as to what I needed the fabric for. She listened to my vision for my mother of the bride dress, encouraged me to send her on photos of that vision and then sent on more fabric samples at no extra cost. She also sent me on photos of other mother of the bride dresses that was made from fabrics purchased at Fabric collection. Following arrival of my fabric samples I decided to make an appointment at Fabric Collection to view the fabrics in person. The shop has a huge range of quality Italian crepe and other couture, bridal and evening wear fabrics. On the day of the appointment Vanessa organized for me to meet one of her designer seamstress. With the assistance of Vanessa, her staff and her designer I was able to purchase fabric in the colour, strength and durability that was appropriate for the simple elegant dress I had envisioned. I am an amateur sewer and have made dresses for myself in the past. But for this occasion I decided to hand over the responsibility to one of Vanessa’s designers. Whenever I need a special dress again in the future either made by myself or by a designer I will be heading to Fabric collection. I was very impressed with Vanessa’s business prowess, prompt service and dedication to help her customers find the prefect fabric.

What a great find! - Fabric CollectionHad been looking in the more high end stores in Sydney for 'something just a bit different' in a medium weight linen to wear to a 4pm garden wedding. Nothing 'jumped out' at me like the beautiful Italian linens on the Fabric Collection website!The staff made it easier for me to choose by quickly mailing requested samples.I now have a length of 'Springtime' printed linen to work with- great handle, drape and stability.Many thanks to Vanessa for her personable, knowledgeable and professional assistance.I have just discovered new arrivals have been added to their website- Oh, so tempting!

Fabric Collection what can I say - thank you many times over! I was visiting from New Zealand 6 weeks before my daughters wedding (in NZ) and needed to get my mother-of-the-bride dress made in record time. I had researched online for stores in Brisbane and came across Fabric Collection. Stunning range of Italian silks and linens, and the offer of a stylist to assist in my selection, and then a referral to a dressmaker who came to the store to work with me on finalising fabric choice and design. I’ve been so impressed at the wonderful service, care and attention to my needs, all the team so very helpful - thank you Vanessa - you all went above and beyond - and I am very very happy with my dress as was the bride (my Isabella). The best fabric shop in Brisbane! What a hidden gem of gorgeous Italian fabrics, right here in Sumner and so close to the city. Purely a fabric shop with stunning silks, linen fabrics, natural fibre cottons and a gorgeous collection of bridal and evening fabrics. Well done to the knowledgeable staff helping with dressmaking and sewing advice.

This big bag of happiness came home with me on Wednesday after a visit to Fabric Collection at Sumner Park. Opening that front door to be greeted by the most scrumptious fabrics was like being in what I imagine Fabric Heaven to be. It is truly a destination. Owner Vanessa has a great eye for choosing her fabrics and I honestly could have stayed a whole day. Beautiful fabrics and staff to match !!!

I had the very good fortune of chatting with Vanessa (let's call her the owner) who recommended Glenda (let's call her the dressmaker extrordinaire!) to make my wedding reception dress. The ease of making a suitable time to meet with Glenda in store, to showing her a couple of inspiration pics, to Glenda drawing up a draft pattern, to choosing fabric was seamless. Within an hour I had a beautiful new friend who also happens to be pretty amazing with a sewing machine. This is my go to fabric shop in Brisbane, actually Australia! Even though I travel from Cairns to visit, this is the best fabric shop. I source my fabrics to compete in fashions on the field and have won regularly in beautiful fabrics from Fabric Collection. Nothing is too much trouble for this team of talented, knowledgeable fabric gurus, thank you so much for always having beautiful Italian fabrics to choose from xx
