H&R Block

Bad experience with Rebecca from H &R block Geelong. Never took the time to listen to all the details and kept entering incorrect data. This is not how you want your tax to be done. I understand everyone has long days but this was just pretty unprofessional. Also, was very snappy and rude. Made me wonder who the customer was. One should treat people with respect if they want to be treated with respect.

I’ve been employing H&R Block for a number of years for tax purposes. For the past three years I’ve been going to the Geelong office. David Cunningham has done my tax on a number of occasions with a level of professionalism second to none.Today I had a meeting with Donna Cavanagh for some general tax advice. I left to the office with a clear plan, and understanding of the year ahead. Well done Donna, I’ll be back next quarter. Coffee is on me..

Was with Katheryn. She didn't listen to anything that I said or take into consideration anything i was saying about what I felt was a fair return or things I felt I should have been able to claim. I also felt the whole office was very unprofessional, no one at the reception to greet customers, also didn't have someone to say that Katheryn was running late. I was just left to wait an extra 15 mins with no knowledge of what was happening. Will be going elsewhere next year so that I feel confident and comfortable with my return. I also had to resign the documents virtually, this didn't bother me but what did bother me was the person that did call me and how they spoke. They didn't ask if it was a good time to talk (which it wasn't) and then when I said can I do it in an hour they said ok, bye and hung up. I was given no explanation as to why I was resigning documents and what had happened. I was told I was getting one amount in my appointment and when my return came in it was totally different which on the phone I was informed that the resigning just needed to be done and no changes to my return were made. Highly recommend that people go elsewhere if you want to feel like you are getting the professionalism you expect from an accountant.

My recent experience with Lauren at the Geelong Branch was very positive. She was caring, professional and fast. She is obviously experienced and good at what she does. I felt like I was in good hands. A very positive experience, I'd highly recommend going there and I'll be back for sure.

We’ve been using H&R for the past few years and each time, something has gone wrong; They’ve either not submitted our returns and we’ve waited months or they’ve missed our appointment etc. This time around, we waited for an hour before asking someone when we might be seen, the lady we spoke with laughed and said there must have been an error in booking. When we showed her our confirmation email, she said there were no available appointments and was laughing (probably nervously I’m guessing). So we left. Given we’ve had poor experiences over the last 3Years, we won’t be returning again. If you have other options, I’d highly recommend going else where.

WARNING do NOT go here! I submitted my tax with David and waited 5 weeks and heard nothing, no tax back. I called to find out why it was taking so long to find out they hadn't even submitted my tax!!!!! First they lied and said it was an ATO glitch then I find out it was an internal error. So all up it took 7 weeks to get my tax back. When they finally processed my tax and gave me a copy they put my wrong date of birth, makes me wonder what else was wrong! Poor service, rude staff and unprofessional office. The whole experience was terrible. Don't waste your time and money here.

I am doing my tax return from them for last 3 years. Never got any issues. Good service and I can trust them. Regular client of Bec Vos. She is confident and easy to work with.

Not happy with the incompetence and lack of care from the geelong branch this year, I had my phone appointment with a tax agent who's number I shall be checking if I choose to go through handr next year, this was now 6 weeks ago. He was rude, insensitive, and had no customer service skills whatsoever. After about 3 weeks I decided to check where my return was at, turns out it hadn't even been submitted to the ATO yet, so upon calls back and forth between the ATO and the geelong site, I was informed that I would be contacted the next day to inform me of what was going on. Got no call, so I went into the agency and was looked after by a lady who told me she pretty much had no idea what went wrong, but it had now been lodged to the ATO. Upon the estimation of the return being deposited on the 23rd of Jan, I received a call to today to double check my bank details for whatever reason, after confirming them, I then received ANOTHER call from the same lady, asking for them AGAIN. As well as this, I apparently have another form to sign, which my guess is that the agent forgot to have me sign it. Overall a terrible experience this year and I would have been better off doing it by myself, I received no compensation for all this trouble either, all I was offered was a 25 dollar discount on my return next year, which I can almost guarantee will be forgotten about or not authorised properly, a refund on h and r blocks service fees would have been much more appropriate...

Kylie in Geelong is amazing. Highly organised and efficient and very experienced with do's and don't's. Would highly recommend.
