I am the Chairman of the Owners Corporation committee for a property in Brunswick. Kone is our worst supplier. To the best of my knowledge, they do attend to undertake regular servicing, and the lift works ok most of the time, and this lifts their ranking to two stars. When they can please themselves when they go to the site, things seem to be fine. However, for anything out of the ordinary, they consistently do not return 'phone calls or respond to emails from our Manager. A work order was issued to Kone almost four weeks ago to attend urgently to allow a plumber to get into the lift well and drain the accumulated water from the torrential downpour, and fit a new sump pump. We have been anxious to get this done quickly, because the bill last time for damage done to the electrical system was over $5k. We are still waiting. Kone have not responded to requests from the plumber, nor to requests from our Manager. This has been typical of Kone's customer service for anything 'different' to standard preventative maintenance, and we have been putting up with that for more than five years. That has been the extraordinarily long term of the contract they negotiated with the builder. The contract is about to end, and we will not be renewing.

This must be one of the worst companies to deal with. They offered us a Kone Care Plus Service Agreement which comes with a performance warranty. This is not worth anything as we have not had a lift for months, but they are quick to send out invoices for regular service despite not having been on site for months. Field Service manager does not answer calls, emails or SMS. Do not sign up with them if you want a reliable service and company which communicates effectively.

Recently had a door issue in my building I called the 24/7 call centre and a technician was on site in no time, he professional and resolved the issue quickly. Definitely recommend Kone!

I've been working with Kone elevators for some years now and every time I needed their help, their responsiveness really impressed me. Recently we had a flood event and 3 out of 4 lifts were out of service. Whether it was the management team, technicians from other area and technicians within our area, they worked really hard to have all 3 lifts up and running within 72 hours. Keep up the good work team.

Lift service of the building has been out for 5 days and no sign of ending. Trying to move out of the property on the 6th floor with no lift is horrible.No answers, no ETA.

Their 135663 number doesn't work. You cannot speak to anyone. Melbourne & Sydney office receptions are always unattended with the only option but to leave a voice message which is never returned. I have never experienced such unprofessional service from a major organisation. They're obviously doing so well they don't need to speak with anyone.

I am on the committee for an apartment building in prahran. We have two lifts serviced by Kone. Our building is only two years old and yet both lifts (both Kone manufactured) have had numerous problems including lifts dropping suddenly whilst in motion and stopping significantly lower than the floor level. We reported these problems to Kone and they were very slow to respond and even slugged the owners corporation with a $600 bill when an occupant reported that the lift had stopped mid-motion. In addition, we reported a broken button and loose handrail and were charged over $600 for each item notwithstanding that both items were of a minor nature. Despite request, Kone refused to refund us the call out fees. Overall, we are extremely disappointed with Kone’s service and attitude and needless to say won’t be renewing our service contract.

I recently got stuck in a lift and called Kone for assistance. I really appreciate how easy they were to deal with and thankful to the technician who arrived fast and worked very quickly to get me out.

We live in a building with 42 floors and only 3 elevators. What makes this even more difficult is that 90% of the time one of the elevators is out of order.We once waited 6 weeks to have one of the elevators repaired (granted it was over the Christmas period) however the original 4 week sign was replaced with a sign stating that the lift would be another 2 weeks before maintenance as they didn't have some of the parts.I was able to write this whole review while still waiting in the lobby, because as I arrived, there was at least 20 people in front of me waiting to go up.
