Took a very expensive watch there for a battery and the people there could not do enough for me. I took the watch to every jewellery shop in Mt Omm and the only one that said they would do it wanted to charge $90 and it would take 2-4 weeks. Done at Somer and Sons in a flash and $20 Thank You very much . Would recommend without a doubt.

I ordered two gold Masonic rings four weeks ago for Christmas and my husband's Birthday which is tomorrow. I was promised they would be ready in time. I rang a week ago to confirm - again I was told they would be ready. I rang yesterday and I was told that they will be ready to be picked up at 4pm this afternoon. I received a phone call at 1pm telling me I could pick them up but the coating had not been done. I could pick them up and then return them in the New Year! Also, I had to fetch them now (1pm) !I was obviously bitterly disappointed. Why promise a customer something you can't fulfill? If Glen couldn't do this in time a courtesy phone would have been appropriate last week as would one at 9am this morning as clearly they were not going to ready.The phone to Somers and Son had clearly been taken off the hook as I was unable to ring them back to get my refund.I went to Somers and Son and a very rude lady behind the counter was not happy that I was not going to wait until the New year and wanted my deposit back. She told me I should have rang! I was polite and courteous and explained the phone was constantly engaged and I could not get through. She shook her head at me and declared that she would now have to put them in the cabinet for sale! Not my problem. Although Glen apologised for her behaviour it was quite disconcerting to be subjected to that level of rudeness.We have bought many items off Glen over the years. My husband has always supported Somers and Son - a local company that has provided him Masonic Regalia.I have since gone online to a UK Masonic company that has promised me that they have rings in stock in my husbands's size. I have bought from them before. They are old school and you always receive a hand written note from a Brother - a beautiful gesture - and no false promises. If they do not have an item in stock - they let you know by return email.I wish Somers and Son well. I for one will not be buying from him again.

Initially, Glen and the team were great in helping me make an engagement ring. However after we took the ring back in October for some modifications, we never heard anything back until January after reaching out several times after the 4 week period that the ring modifications would take, as indicated by Glen to my fiancé and I.After deciding to go elsewhere for a new ring in January, we informed Glen that we would like the $3,800 refunded. It took Glen until the end of February to refund $3,000, and we finally received the rest of the refund in early April, however that $800 was paid back in instalments due to “waiting for money to clear”. I was contacting once or twice a week since January, Glen kept giving me excuses such as “waiting for some money to come through”, “the recent rain and flooding affected our customers coming here”, and “it may be a delay due to the current lockdown”.Would highly recommend looking anywhere but here for your jewellery needs.

Had my mothers jewellery melted and remade, cleaned and resized. I love the results and the price was very reasonable. Friendly people too. Can’t recommend them highly enough.Only thing is they don't return the calls when they said would. I am having to constantly chase them upIt must be getting on for nearly 6 months since I left my 2 watches here. You promised they would be ready every day I called you said you would call back everytime but you never have not once!!!!!

I have had my grandmothers 100 year old Tiffany pearls restrung twice by this business. Both times they were strung too short. They have seen the valuation and the length. I understand when pearls are restrung they can be shorter but not 1.5 inches shorter. To their credit they did not charge. I have since taken them to someone else along with the valuation which describes the length and how many pearls. It states there were 84 pearls and when dropping them to another jeweler they stated that only were 82 present. I have addressed this Somers & Sons by phone 2 times and the owner stated he will look into this and get back to me. This has not happened.. all I needed was an explanation and they have not provided this. I understand old peals may break during the process but my complaint is that they never said anything. So for one who never writes a unfavorable review... here it is. very disappointed,.yes I understand they did not charge but still no explanation .

Took an antique silver ring with turquoise for a simple repair where it had snapped. Upon return the stone has obviously been changed and replaced with another. When asked about it they denied any knowledge or interference with the stone. Previously it was rounded and raised with a small chip, now it’s flat with the surface and a different color.I am extremely disappointed with thisBusiness and would recommend you take your precious items to a more trustworthy company. We had previously been very trusting as I am a third generation customer, they may have a new worker or even just one untrustworthy jeweler but it lets the whole team down.

My wedding ring shrank in the wash (or I am getting older and my knuckles are swelling - not sure which). After I checked with my doctor for medical reasons - went to Somers & Son to see if I could get it resized. They weren't too busy (at 9am on a Sat) so he did it on the spot, polished it gave it back to me looking better than the day i was married. Great service, great workmanship and underpriced if anything.Thank you for your help. Much appreciated.
