After some research on the net Mick Gentry Guitar Repairs caught my attention as being the place to go. On entering the workshop I was straight away impressed with the friendliness of Mick & Shelley. I was prepared to leave my guitar there but on explaining that I had a problem with the tremolo being too stiff he adjusted the springs on the spot, tuned up the guitar gave me some good tips regarding the strings etc looked at the guitar and said it did not require a set up as it was good as it was. He would not except any payment and said any problems to come back any time. I walked out of there feeling like I had just made a couple of new friends. I will definitely return to have any work done. Guitar & tremolo felt so much better when I tried it, so pleased. Thank you Mick & Shelley.

i have known and dealt with Mick and Shelley for 15 years..whenever I acquire a new guitar ( currently 40...but don't tell my wife please), myfirst stop is at Mick's shop for a set up. Always friendly knowledgeable andextremely competent,I've never.never had a problem. Mick is simply the best!

Mick Gentry has now worked on 5 of my guitars. Starting earlier this year with a restring and set up on a 12 string Martin, I immediately noticed the difference when I picked it up. I was impressed with the play-ability of this beautiful instrument. So I decided that my 33 year old Ibanez acoustic would benefit from a service, and as I opened the case for Mick to check it out, he immediately pointed out a fault with the guitar that I had not noticed. He performed an internal repair, restrung & serviced the guitar, and I realized then how it had changed over the years so subtly that I had grown used to it. Mick restored it to its former glory! But the bigger story was my guitar that I take camping, a relatively cheap guitar that was almost unplayable, yet I would struggle with it rather than take my other acoustic outback. When Mick had finished servicing it, I could not believe it was the same guitar! I play it a lot nowadays, such a difference he has made to it! I have two Gibson solid bodies, both have been set up by Mick and I am extremely happy with the results. Added to their professional attitude, Mick and Shelley are both warm, genuine people, and I am proud to take my guitars to them for servicing! Highly recommend them!

Hi I've not met Mick ,he did a fantastic job on my Telecaster, installed new Dimarzio pick ups ,bridge and neck .installed bigsby tremolo,And its a perfect job the guitar looks and sounds awesome. Thanks Mick l hope l meet you next time bro .
