Had a lovely dinner for two.. Beautiful food and drinks, had a live band also...Only down side was it felt like we were sitting on top of one another as they packed us all in tight but all in all was a nice night so would recommend it and we'll be back.

Always drop in here for a few jars when passing by on an adventure. Possibly the best chips in Victoria. Nice beer garden out the back that bikes can be taken into if you need to keep an eye on them! Conveniently located within an easy stroll/roll down to the Benalla train station.

We recently held our high school reunion in the beer garden at the Northo and it was fabulous. Mel and Wayne were really easy to deal with in the lead up to the event and the setting was perfect. The staff on the night were extremely friendly and knew how to mix a great cocktail! The food was absolutely delicious and came out all night with plenty to go around. Highly recommend!

I have dined here several times while visiting Benalla. We don't even bother with any of the other hotel bistros as this one is the best. It is very classy and beautiful inside, with a welcome log fire and full table service. Last week I visited twice - my Porterhouse Steak on first visit was nice, but a little dry. I did ask for well done though, as sometimes in other places it is too rare, even if I ask for medium-well done. Second visit I had the Porterhouse Steak Ciabatta Sandwich and it was really delicious, although the chips missed the mark a little and seemed overcooked. I was not so keen on the desserts we had - the Sundae and the Trifle were served in a small glass, not in a dish as it usually does (and I prefer). I would definitely recommend The Northo for a pleasant dining experience.

We dined here twice over the Easter weekend. Went there for lunch on Good Friday and the food and service were both so fantastic we decided to take the family back on Sunday. Sunday was busy but the service was still amazing and the food excellent. The pub also has a great atmosphere. I can't wait to go back.

Travelled to Benalla to experience the Northo. Was not disappointed. Amazing food and drinks. Very friendly staff. We sat outdoors in a beautiful courtyard setting to catch the sun but we will be back to experience the warm cozy vibe inside during the winter. Would highly recommend 10/10.

Cycling through town and asked at the tourist bureau where to get a ‘good meal’. Headed here and am not disappointed. Not many vegan choices, but that’s a me problem! I opted for vegetarian Pumpkin and Feta Arancini Balls, Steamed Greens and Sticky Date Pudding (along with a glass of red.) All were delicious!

Beautiful place! Lots of charm and a very friendly atmosphere. The food was delicious, out of 6 of us no one has a bad meal (and you have to try the mushroom sauce). Service was quick, friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and they did an amazing job at squeezing us in during a busy lunch rush. Its THE place to go for a great feed (the new owners have done an amazing job since taking over)
