We were staying in McLaren Vale for a couple of nights in an AirBNB and went to Ellis Butchers. We tried a couple of Wagyu rump steaks. The Wagyu rump was absolutely delicious and a top quality steak!

By far and away the best butcher I have ever been to. They’re happy to prepare meat however you need and to put together custom orders. They’re able to tell you where the meat has come from and the cuts are thick and restaurant quality. Couldn’t be more satisfied after more than 5 years shopping and Ellis.

I bought Wagyu and fillet steaks - almost didn't need a knife to cut the fillet - amazingly tender and flavoursome. My husband said the Wagyu was delicious but sadly ate it all before I got a taste!They also deliver to Adelaide!

Normally a huge fan of the meat at a ellis.. Jus bought 4 sausages and 2 porterhouse (wagyu) steaks for $56.00The steak was appalling had 2 mouthfuls of OK meat.. The rest went in the bin..

The staff were very friendly and patient. We tried various BBQ meats during a one-week AirBnB stay nearby: steaks, lamb cutlets and sausages. The eye fillet won it for us: superb, and very handy that it’s available in “his and hers” sized pieces.

Made my first trip here today, well worth the 40 min drive to get there. Large range of bbq ruba/sauces. You can pick individual pieces of wood for smoking. Meat looks great too - lots of high quality items and the price reflects the quality. (I’ve been to other butchers that charge high prices for subpar meats) Interesting range of meat balls and sausages.
