Halliday Bay Resort and Golf Course and RV Park

Stayed in a cabin. Minimal facilities. No BBQ, only 1 down the other end of the beach which you have to drive to (unless you want to walk in the dark). Very minimal lighting at the 1 BBQ to share with anyone else brave enough to venture all that way. Does not feel safe at all. The main cabin door lock was broken so unable to lock room securely to go anywhere. TVvery old (VCR compatible) and did NOT work anyway. No smoke alarms fitted that we could find!! Not very clean, found food under the mattress in lounge (which was a flimsy thin foam mattress). Advertised as King bed in the bedroom but it was just 2 singles joined together, and VERY uncomfortable!! Screens in the windows had big holes in and were eaten alive by sandflies. Not maintained well, mold everywhere and looked dirty. I'd say most of the good reviews are from the van park occupants. Permanent residents also live there who have dogs - though clearly signed No dogs allowed. Overpriced for what it is. We have stayed in better for less. (last minute booking). Only positive was the location. NOT a Resort (as falsely claiming).Such a shame, has such potential due to location.Owners not very friendly either.

Stayed 6 nights at this park and we loved it. Right on the ocean and so peaceful and quiet. Golf course is so picturesque and you get one free game per day so it makes the site great value. Course is very challenging! Tina and Garth are very friendly and helpful and all the other guests are also very friendly and welcoming. We hope to come back next year for longer as it is quite central to lots of great places to do a day trip. Thanks for fitting us in as we only booked 4 nights and extended to 6.

Management, Tina and Garth were lovely, but unfortunately that’s the only positive I have for this park. Cabins are extremely dated with not even a microwave available, and were certainly not clean. Very disappointing the amount you pay to stay in a cabin however you don’t get free golf included, yet those staying in the RV park at a cheaper rate are offered free golf each day. Long term RV park guests make the stay very unwelcoming with them taking ownership of the park in Tina and Garths absence and working off their own agendas. They have 0 people skills and quite rude and abrupt. Wouldn’t recommend staying here until those people are gone so other holiday makers can enjoy this park. Unfortunately Vandalism in this park is also present.

The resort part is hard to rate, as each unit is individually owned and while our unit had much room for improvement, we don't know what the next one would look like.Our unit had the bare minimum, minus 50%. How do you advertise that you can cook all meals in the kitchen, but there aren't any large knives, spatulas or a Microwave. No outdoor seating at our unit.The setting is beautiful, peaceful and wow there are purple rocks 9n the beach.Service was great at the resort. Restaurant only open weekends.

Nice location, however be sure to only pay for your intended stay as refunds or credits are not given, not much shade, limited activities in the location and area, stinger net not fixed since last year and the ever presence of local crocodiles. Overall if yo like stay a while and relax this is the place otherwise short stays are advisable. Closest shops are in Seaforth and check the use buy dates.

OK 1st off. August 2022. The resort " is closed. Caravan park (dog friendly) and 9 hole golf course are all working. Great place to take your van and golf clubs...the kids on the beach with mum gives dad time to play golf or visa versa. The beach is 20m from one of the fairways. Bring your own food as Seaforth (closest store to buy food) is 6km away. The whole area is quiet and relaxed with nice beaches and Cape Hillsborough is also great (as long as you leave your pets at home)."

Beautiful spot a cheap place for a family. Rooms are showing there age but are clean we enjoyed our stay

Played 9 holes of golf. Beautiful course, shame the caretakers were EXTREMELY rude, inhospitable and quite frankly made what’s supposed to be fun quite uncomfortable after being yelled at like dogs for trying to respect caravaners by driving around someone’s van.

This van park is very clean, neat and tidy. The views of the beach are beautiful. The managers were very helpful and friendly. We booked for seven days and extended four more days it was so nice. Definitely returning to this place.The price is right also.
