This is the worst company ever. I have had so many problems with Southern Phone over the years and have stuck by them for what reason I absolutely don't know. I have know had enough and have decided to cancel my account but I cant even do that. So far I have been on hold for a total 54 minutes. People if you want a company with even reasonable customer services then make sure you stay away from Southern Phone.

What a terrible company this is..No service! no care for its older customers that relies on them! no communication what so ever. So glad they have left Moruya I am now switching to another company, so sad about the workers they were so helpful an understanding. Very disappointed...

Absolutely hopeless. Call them Monday 11am (no 1800 number) to be greeted with messages saying to call back during business hours. Persist for 5 of those messages and then they'll explain to you that they cannot do anything unless you give them a 2FA code. But hey, you're not in a mobile service area ... so you can't even check your data usage. Unbelievable insult to people living in the bush.

Terrible Service, always spend hours on hold and have been waiting for a refund for 2 months because they kept charging the monthly fee even though I had canceled my plan!Switched to aussie BB and they've been fantastic. Southern phone is a JOKE!

Prompt response. Good clear communications. Local knowledge Rrelevant advice . Highly competitive product. I think that's worth five stars. THAT WAS THEN. Since then, two weeks later, I still have no mobile phone connection because Southern Phone sent me two SIMS that are not compatible with / recognized by my phone . The Telstra SIM is still recognized so, no, the problem is not in the phone. No-one bothered to check what phone I had before sending the SIMs, presumeably on the incorrect assumption that one size fits all. I've had two meaningful responses to a number of emails, and one of those gave incorrect information contrary to what we started with. The phone wait was c. 20 minutes each time I tried. The chat line is good when its available, but (just like Telstra's) that's not often. I've gone from 5 to 0 stars and that could have been prevented by better communications and a little intelligent problem solving. When the chat line is down one is asked to leave an email address to receive a follow up. None ever came! That strikes me as downright disrespectful and, to add insult to injury, Southern Phone want to bill from the date of activation of the SIM despite it's not working in my phone. This has been a very frustrating and disappointing exprience which I hope never to repeat.Update. Despire all he above being so I have now had a satisfactory outcome. Southern Phone took responsibility for the poor customer experience and agreed not to require payment of the cancelled account and, this time, I got through reasonably promptly to the consultant on the Chat line. My overall impression is that Southern Phone could be a great option for regional Australia (assuming the coverage is as good as they say) if they just improve their communications. Access to services is difficult enough in the regions without having difficulties even over the phone or internet. Whenever I actually got to speak to a consultant I received good service so, on balance, as things stand at present, I give 3.5 stars.

Worst customer support ever. Attached picture shows me giving up after literally more than one hour on their hotline. During business hours.NBN drops out 20 times per hour minimum after 4PM. Goes on for weeks. Their chat support doesn't work, phone support let me wait 25 minutes to pick up, and then 35 minutes more after connecting me to tech support". I gave up in the end.Note that I was forced to Southern phone by the previous provider

This is the worse phone company. Their service on phones is appalling, their chat bot doesn't work at all so just leaves you hanging and their plans are structured to gauge customers through excess data charges. Do yourself a favour and use someone else - anyone else!

I was with Southern phone for a NBN service for 7 days - it is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. They make Telstra customer service look awesome in comparison. Stay away, save yourself the grief

Awful service, hard to believe a telco that operates with systems like this can exist in 2022. Sadly I fell for the $5 a month SIM only offer for a family member. Big mistake and it’s cost far more in time and nonsense to deal with this company’s incompetence with failing to charge plus being outrageously hard to contact, saying they send emails that never turn up, etc etc. Avoid this company.
